Blonde Ambition
Chapter 1

Author's Note: This story is set circa early 2000 right after Jason gave Sonny the information to get Carly out of the Quartermaine home. If you're not familiar with that time, Carly is pregnant by Sonny, but she hates him and Jason has left town. And for storyline purposes, Brenda 'died' about a year and a half ago.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason stared at his cell phone for a few moments, letting the information Sonny told him sink in. She’s pregnant. Carly’s pregnant. As the idea finally hit him, the desk before him was flipped over.
“Fuck!” he yelled. “That sonofabitch! He fucking got her pregnant! God!”
His fist went flying, hitting nothing but the air. He took in a few deep breaths trying to control his rage. He had never felt so angry before.
“Jesus,” he whispered as he sank down on the nearby couch. “God, Carly, why the hell did you do it?” he muttered quietly to himself.
A light knock broke him out of his thoughts.
“What?” he snapped.
“Mr. Morgan there’s a call for you.”
“Tell them I’m gone,” Jason replied coldly.
There was a slight pause at the door before a response came. “Sir?” came the simple reply.
“I said to tell them I’m gone,” he replied more forcefully.
“Yes, sir.”
Carly’s Pregnant. The words continued to reverberate in his head. The anger was building to a numbing and he would wait until he just couldn’t feel anything. “Carly’s pregnant,” he whispered for what seemed to be the hundredth time. “Jesus.”
He would kill him. How did he ever trust him? Care about him? He should have known better.
~~~~~~

“I’m not moving into the penthouse with you. I don’t give a flying rat’s ass if you try to threaten me with Michael again. I will go to the DA and file charges against AJ myself. I’m staying here at Jason’s and that’s as good as it’s gonna get.”

“You’re staying with me.”

“Fuck you,” she muttered.

“He’s not coming back,” he told her coldly.

“Who?” she replied nonchalantly.

“Get off it, Carly! Jason! He’s not coming back. He’s not gonna want you back ever after what you did.”

“No, Sonny, after what you did. Was it worth it?” she taunted. “Was one roll in bed with me worth losing the only person who gave a shit about you?”

“You tell me, Carly. You’re the one that did this.”

She laughed incredulously. “I did this? He’ll never forgive you for this, Sonny.”

“He’ll never forgive you,” he replied. “Especially now.”

She narrowed her eyes at him, an overwhelming sense of dread filling her. “What’re you saying?”

“I told him, Carly.”

“What?”

“I told him you were pregnant with my kid.”

“You what?”

“I told –-“

“You motherfucking asshole!” she screamed. “I hope to God that Jason kills you. I hope on all that’s holy that God will strike you down you sonofabitch. You are the most egotistically disgusting person I have ever met. AJ is a step up from you. Get out of this penthouse right now or I’ll call the police. I’ll call my mother. I’ll call my uncle, my cousin, and anyone else I can think of.”

“They all hate you, Carly.”

“Not as much as they hate you. Get out!” she screamed.

“Whatever,” he sighed. “But I’ll be checking up on you.”

As soon as the door closed behind him, she crumpled to the floor in hysteric sobs.

“Oh, God, Jason. I’m so sorry.”

~~~~~
As the plane landed at the Paris International Airport, Jax immediately knew that he would once again come up empty handed. She wasn’t there. His sadness soon coupled over to anger at the situation. He was suspicious when he first got the tip, but his heart refused to listen to his head. He couldn’t chance it. If she were here and alive . . .
He shook his head quickly. It had been over a year since she had been forced off that cliff and he refused to believe that she was gone. Gone. He never used the word dead. A million scenarios played in his head of what could have happened to her. Amnesia. Coma. Stubbornness. He ran his hands over his face and sighed.
“God, Brenda where are you?” he whispered softly.
He grabbed his cell and quickly pressed one on the speed dial. “Come on,” he muttered when no one picked up the line.
“Hello?”
“Will, it’s me.”
“What’s up Jax?”
“I need a favor.”
“Name it.”
“I want a trace put on whoever sent in this last tip.”
“Jax?”
“Someone’s trying to play mind games with me and I have a feeling I know who it is. And I swear on all that’s holy, he’ll pay if I’m right.”
The Next Day
“Carly, I’m not gonna let you eat that crap.”
“Let me?” Carly shrieked. “You arrogant asshole. I will eat what I damn well please and you have no control over the matter. I’m not your wife. I’m not your girlfriend. Hell, I hate your guts. So you can take this goddamn bowl of soup and shove it up your ass.”
“Carly, I’m not playing.”
Her nostrils began to flare and she took the bowl of soup from the tray. “I hate you, Sonny. I hate you and I wish on all that is holy that someone will do this world a favor and kill you.”
She threw the bowl at him and grinned wickedly as the hot soup splattered his pants. “Go to hell,” she muttered as he grimaced in pain.
She swung the front door open and punched the elevator button continuously. Sonny came out of the penthouse and glared at her. “You’re not going anywhere.”
“Watch me,” she hissed.
“I said,” he began as he made his way towards her, “You’re not going anywhere.”
“Fuck off,” she muttered as she hit the button once again.
Sonny grabbed her wrist and glared at her. “Get back inside.”
“Let go of me.”
“Go inside.”
She pulled her wrist upwards, but Sonny refused to let go. The elevator door opened and before Sonny could blink, he was shoved up against the nearby wall.
“Don’t you ever lay your hands on my niece again.”
“Luke . . .”
“Shut up. I’m not through, Corinthos. Imagine my surprise when my niece calls me and tells me you’ve kidnapped her. I laughed at her, Sonny. Said she was crazy and hung up on her. Color me shocked to find out she was telling me the truth.”
“Why do you care, Luke? You hate her guts.”
“Wrong, Sonny. She’s a Spencer and no one fucks with a Spencer.”
“She’s having my baby.”
“I don’t care if she’s having Satan’s kid. You don’t control her. You don’t tell her what to do and you sure as hell don’t tell her where to live.”
“Are you gonna let me go anytime soon?” Sonny sighed.
“No,” Luke growled. “Caroline, go inside and pack your shit. You’re coming with me.”
“Hell no,” Carly shouted. “This asshole just put me through the same bullshit and fuck if I’m gonna put up with that crap from you.”
Luke rolled his eyes and glared at her. “Do you wanna stay here then? Fine. Don’t be calling your mama and telling her how miserable you are.”
Carly walked past him with a roll of her eyes. “Fine,” she muttered. “It can’t get any worse than this.”
“Carly if you go, I’ll give those papers back to AJ and he’ll take Michael from you.”
Luke shoved the back of Sonny’s head into the wall. “Did you just threaten her?”
“Stay out of this, Luke.”
“Stay out of her life,” he replied.
Luke glanced towards the penthouse to make sure Carly had gone out of earshot. “Listen to me, Sonny and listen good. That little girl has people watching her back. You fuck with her and you’re gonna be sorry.”
“Luke you have no power. My pinky finger has more power than you do. I’ll get Alexis on this and we’ll see who comes up on top.”
“Natasha is good, I’ll give you that. But no judge in this world would force Carly to live with or around you. I’m telling you once and only once. Leave her the hell alone.”
Carly appeared in the hallway once again with her packed bags. “Let’s go,” Carly told him confidently.
“You got it, baby doll.”
Carly hit the elevator button as Luke continued to hold onto Sonny. The elevator dinged its arrival and Luke finally released Sonny.
“Don’t do it, Carly,” he hissed as she entered the car.
“Fuck off,” she muttered as the doors slid shut.
“Sonofabitch!” Sonny cursed as he was left alone in the hallway.
“So where we goin’,” Carly finally asked Luke as they made their way through the lobby.
“It’s a surprise.”
“Luke . . .”
“Shut up and get in the caddy.”
Carly threw her bags into the back seat and then slid into the front seat of the red Cadillac. Luke peeled out onto the road and pulled out his cell.
“Little Mama has left the building,” he told the person on the other side of the line. “No, Barbara Jean has Mikey . . . . Yeah . . . We’re right on schedule . . . For how long?! . . . Whoa there . . . Fine . . . One week, that’s it.”
Carly stared at him curiously as he threw the phone onto the dashboard. “Who was that?”
“None of your business, baby doll.”
“The hell it’s not. I have the right to know who sent you to get me away from Sonny and force me to be stuck with you for a week.”
“You should learn not to listen in on other people’s conversations, darlin’.”
“How was I not supposed to hear that?”
“Calm down, baby doll,” he smirked at his own rhyme. “All this excitement can’t be good for little Luke.”
Carly’s eyes widened at her uncle. “Little Luke? My baby is not gonna be named Luke.”
“Ok, Lucy then.”
“No.”
“Luann?”
“No.”
“What about Spencer?”
“Luke, shut up. Are you gonna tell me who was on the phone or not?”
He ignored her question and Carly threw her arms in the air. “I’m talking to you!” she shouted.
“You told me to shut up,” he replied nonchalantly.
“God, you’re impossible.”
“Thanks, Laura always tells me the same thing too.”
“Will you at least tell me where we’re going?”
“My house.”
“Why?”
“’Cause that’s where you’re gonna be living for the next week.”
“No.”
“What do you mean ‘no’?”
“I can’t live there. Michael can’t live there.”
“It’s either the house or the Port Charles Hotel. Your pick.”
“Take me to the Brownstone. Michael’s there and that’s where we’re gonna stay.”
“No, baby doll. That’s too predictable. Sonny will find you there in a minute. And at least at the house, me, Laura, and Lucky can keep an eye on you.”
“Great.”
A few minutes passed by as Carly stared at the passing scenery. “Thanks, Luke,” she said softly.
He looked over at her and patted her knee. “Don’t you worry, darlin’. Everything’s gonna be peachy keen.”
“I wish,” she whispered.
