Flood Marker



Marker at 29th and Jefferson streets shows where the waters of the flood of 1937 receded. Erected by the Junior Chamber of commerce in 1938. The eagle is from the old post office. Total weight of the monument is 41,000 pounds. The inscription reads:
AN EXPRESSION
OF GRATITUDE TO ALL
WHO GAVE AID
DURING THE FLOOD OF
1937
