Anyone
"In loving memory of my racin' buddy
and the girl who made me swoon!"
But never mind if they were no good anyway,
for all your dead are immune.

Is it wrong to tell you now
And smash up your illusions,
that even though some are abruptly departed,
you are all alike in your sins.

I think it was the best thing for him.
He went out the way he lived,
headed for nowhere,
chauvinistic,
just like anyone,
it could have been anyone,
always doing such foolish things to prove his worth;
If he were alive now,
you'd just as soon stab his back.

Could you cry such real tears
for someone you never thought to look at twice?
Have you convinced yourself that you still have a heart?
Can you feel what you feel on your own?
Without the tears of others,
Could you feel your own grief,
or would your soul implode?
