Okay, here it goes ("aaaaand....weeee!")
I'm currently a twelfth-grader at Lake Mary High School. This year, I am the Editor-in-Chief of the school
newspaper, the Rampage. I've been writing for the Rampage since I was a freshman and have been
climbing the ranks. Lately I've been writing some poetry, and I'm having a hard time with it, but I guess
that's what I get for starting on this so late in my childhood. Before this it's mostly been news articles
and editorials about politics and entertainment, which I think I do a pretty decent job with. J.D.'s been
encouraging me lately to write and share my writings with others. I took my first real cracks at writing
poetry maybe about a year ago, and I think that by this point I've gotten a lot of the lousy stuff out of my
head and started turning out a few decent things. I really don't know why I write poetry. I've got so many
ideas and feelings about the world around me and I want to put them to good use, so maybe I'm just
using poetry to challenge myself to express myself in a more artistic manner. Apart from poetry, I am
going to try to include some essays and thoughts in prose form, maybe also a few editorials and English
class papers I'm proud of. Maybe I could make a weekly column of it. (So many ideas. I'll have to talk
them over with J.D.). The work I've got on here now is somewhat negative, but a) you've got to let the
bad stuff out, and b) it's not all dead-serious--a lot of the things I write about appear very funny to me. I
don't know if my poems are really that funny though. Well, this is enough for now. I'll tell you more
about me later.
