Ever wonder why
People say hello?
Ponder at the meaning
Of a friendly word?

Why of all the things we do
We stop to say Hello?
And take a moment of our time
Just to say a word?

Listen to the racing beat
Cadance of their pounding feet
Running 'round and 'round the track
There they go and now they're back
