When Eve Dallas is put in charge of the murdered licensed companion or prostitute, she
doesn't know quite what she's in for. The victim, who happens to be the granddaughter of a senator, was shot, which
is no longer the norm since the gun-ban. Her number one suspect is Irish billionaire, Rourke and although no one
knows anything about him she doesn't believe that he's the killer. Complicating her investigation even more is the
senator, who keeps butting in and the additional murders of two more licensed companions. While Eve and Capt.
Ryan Feeney, her friend/mentor/partner, try to solve the case, she become involved with Rourke. Even knowing
that he's a suspect and she shouldn't get involved, she and Rourke both realize that love has caught them. With his
help, Even and Rourke clear his name and catch the killer.

Being a cop is more than just a job to Lt. Eve Dallas. When two beautiful and high powered

as a cop she must follow every lead. That's when she meets Nadine Furst, an aggressive reporter who will try anything
to get her story. Eve has a hard time not liking Nadine, even though she is a pain. Eve has never really had any friends,
so her growing relationship with Nadine and Mavis Freestone, a singer, are precious. In addition to Capt. Feeney,
Eve gets help from Officer Delia Peabody, a rookie cop who idolizes Eve and annoys her at every turn. Eve has
traveled into unknown territories when she must protect and worry for the safety of others. And that includes
Rourke. She must work hard on making sure that the killer doesn't make one of her friends or herself his next victim.

Not even on her honeymoon can Lt. Eve Dallas get away from death. Eve and Rourke are
called away from their relaxation, when one of Rourke's employees kills himself. Returning home to N.Y., Eve
investigates two more suicides. But something's not right, these people were not the suicidal type. Once Eve begins
to investigate, she finds that there is something suspicious about the autopsies. All three show small burns on their
brains. Realizing that they're all connected, the investigation turns to the provocative world of virtual reality games.
Where the same techniques used to create joy and desire could also prompt the mind to become the weapon of it's
own destruction. Once again Rourke's involved and he may actually be the next victim if Eve can't solve the case.

technological expert, who has a killer grudge.
