Summary: Will's dad George comes to town to be presented with an award, and despite his insistance that the award means nothing and that Will and Grace shouldn't come, they both decide to go anyway, as a surprise.
When they show up, they learn that George hasn't revealed to any of his co-workers that his son is gay. Will is hurt and confronts his dad in the washroom. George tells Will that he was only trying to protect him. When he accepts his award, George finally tells everyone about his gay son and spents the night at the podium talking about him.
Meanwhile, Karen sets Jack up to meet with his real father, John Marshall, whom she found with the use of a private detective. Neither Jack nor John is told what the meeting is about and both feel that it is a date.
When John leaves to take a call, Karen shows up and Jack reveals how much he loves John. But when he mentions "getting some" tonight, Karen freaks and reveals that John is Jack's father. Jack is both repulsed and excited. When John comes back, Jack tells him the truth, to which John insists he can't be Jack's father because he is gay and has never slept with a woman before. Jack and John then leave to go to a Backstreet Boys concert.
