Not-so-brief (but hopefully interesting) Biography
Who made this website? you may be asking yourself as you view this illustrious creation. Well, the answer would be me. "Me" being Karli, the lovely girl from the photo above. I created this site in 1999, shortly after I became obsessed with an awesome sitcom called "Will & Grace" (I'm sure you've heard of it). Since that time, this website has undergone numerous changes and updates, as have I (well, not so much with the "updates"...).

I was born not so long ago in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada (yay Canada!). I lived with just my mom, who is a lesbian. And if you are disguested by this idea, boy are YOU on the wrong website! My dads are also gay. My mom wanted a child to raise on her own, but homosexuals couldn't adopt in the 1980s, so she got her two friends to help. I hope that clears up any confussion.

Also, while we're on the subject, one of my aunts is gay and one of my uncles is (well, was, he died of AIDS in the early 90's) gay. And yet my grandpa remains a Bush supporter...go figure.

Anyhoo, I'm getting off track. I moved to Ontario when I was three, and then my mom and I moved around Ontario a lot when I was younger. I attended school in Toronto until I was 9, while my mom studied to be a minister. When I was heading into grade 4, we moved to the conservative dump that is the current city I live in. Many of my friends from my early years in this town turned out to be homophobic asshats, so I bid them adieu.

I got relatively good grades in school, but generally despised it, right up to graduation. I suffered from depression, but started taking medication for it late into high school; I'm still on medication, but my mood has improved greatly.

During this time, I had taught myself how to build websites. At first, I used PageBuilder, a drop-and-drag website builder that made it very easy for me to grasp the concepts I was learning. My first website was for Disney's remake of "The Parent Trap" (starring Lindsay Lohan when she was little and cute). It's since gone the way of many abandoned websites, so don't try finding it because you won't be able to. Later, I taught myself HTML (with a little help) and started revamping my still-existing websites.

I created my Jack & Karen website after becoming a fan during the summer of 1999, when I got to see repeats of season 1. My mom realized what a big fan I was, and when we were in Los Angelas visiting friends, we realized Megan would be in town preforming at The Evidence Room. One of my mom's friends got us tickets, and my mom got me backstage to meet Megan. It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life, you can read more about it here: Megan & I.

Me and my idol

Through my websites, I met a variety of interesting people, most of them not completely insane. The first was Alice, whom I taught a bit of website building to, and then, well, the student surpassed the teacher (see her site Vanilla Kink dot org to see what I mean); she's a freakin' HTML genius.

I also met Greg, who is the sweetest, kindest, nicest boy I have ever met, online or off. I actually got to meet him face-to-face, and he was just as cool in person. He runs the section of this site entitled "Greg's Gossip".

After graduation (and a fun trip around Europe with my mom), I went to college and studied Print Journalism, where I really learned only two things: 1) that I really hate print journalism (the job I mean; the course was great) and 2) that I love copy editing, which we studied a bit in the course. I made many friends while studying at college; pretty much everyone in my course became close because you can't go through the kind of hell that is putting out a paper every week without forming some sort of bond. I graduated in the summer of 2004.

During that time, I became really good friends with my classmate Nicole, who is pretty much the only person from college whom I see on a regular basis; almost everyone else got the heck out of this dive the minute they got their diplomas.

Around this time, my mom had also graduated from studying to be a minister to actually becoming a minister with UFMCC, which is the biggest mostly-gay church denomination in the world. She was the minister for our local church until recently, when she was given the title of "Elder", which increased her job responsibilities and the territories she covers. She travels a lot, and thus had to stop being a full-time minister. She moved to Boston after I graduated, to live with her partner Judi, whom she married this summer (yay gay marriage!). I stayed in the crap town and moved to a smaller apartment with my kitties, Ginger and Koko. I've had Ginger for 15 years and Koko for 10 years. Ginger is a very sweet and kind-hearted and aloof little Persian, while Koko is a mischievous, silly kitten-ish Siamese cat who insists on always being the centre of attention.

My boys...aren't they cute?

I lived on my own from August 2004 to April 2005. Then my friend Nicole moved in, we were roommates for a while, then she left. I'm working at the local donut shop, acting as the community's punching bag and saving up money to go back to college to study something I actually want to make a career of, like copy editing. I don't plan on ever not having a website, but when "Will & Grace" ends, I may get more lax on when I update (and considering I update about once a month, that's really saying something).

In my spare time, I like to watch TV and movies, surf the 'net, play games and play with my kitties. Besides "Will & Grace" and it's stars, I am also a huge fan of Alan Rickman, Ian McKellen, Jason Isaacs, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Brent Spiner, Al Franken, "Dead Like Me", "The Daily Show", all forms of "Law & Order", Kevin Smith and his films, the Kids in the Hall, slash fanfiction, fanmade music videos, and of course, "Harry Potter".
