Richard's from a large family, three brothers (Glenn, Aaron
and Daniel) and a sister (Beverly). They all tremble at the thought of standing up to their mother, Charlotte. For the
longest time Daniel was the only one that knew his secret. What secret? The fact that Richard became a werewolf
after he got a bad batch of lycanthropy vaccine, kinda like getting sick even if you've had a flu shot. One of the reason
for his secrecy is that he's a science teacher, with a degree in Preternatral Biology, at Seckman Junior High School
and although discrimanting against lycanthropes is illegal, parents tend not to want there kids being around them.
Richard loves all thing outdoors, whether it be hiking, caving or camping. He collects Warner Brothers cartoon
characticures, loves to watch old Sherlock Holmes movies and watch and listen to old musicals. It's all these things
and his great body that attract Anita, it didn't hurt that the first time she saw him he was lying naked in a silk covered
bed. According to Anita, his only drawback is the fact that he doesn't like coffee and that he just happens to be a morning
person.
Richard's not just any old werewolf, he's an alpha werewolf,
with the rare ablility to share his power through his blood his pack members, and second in line to rule his pack.
Richard has a high moral standard, Anita calls him "the ultimate boyscout" (and always feels like she's the older of
the two even though he's three years older) and doesn't think that the pack has to be ruled by violence as it has been.
But pack law demands that in order to become the new Ulfric, pack leader, the old one, Marcus, must be killed by
the contender. Richard has had two different opportunities to do so but each time he draws back and tries to get
Marcus to abdicate, which he won't. Anita and the rest of the pack who are loyal to Richard think that what he wants
is noble but that it will never work, that if Richard doesn't kill Marcus and use force to rule the pack he could get a
lot of people killed. But when he finally kills Marcus he losses Anita to Jean-Claude.
Richard always feared being thought of as a monster by
Anita and when she rejects his beast he withdraws from her and his pack. Focusing his anger on displining pack members
and disregarding his own safety. It's at this point that pack members start talking to Anita. But it's not until Anita
embraces all that is Richard including his beast that he's at peace.
When Anita and Richard first started to get serious, he
offically made her his lupa in the pack. That means that she's his mate and will remain so until or if he chooses another.
It is a very thing for a human to be a part of a pack especailly as the lupa. Due to thier turbulent relationship, at one
point Richard was openly seeking a new lupa but at this point he seems to be happy with the situation as it stands.
Richard and Jean-Claude are the ones that first brought up
the idea of forming a triumvirate. For Richard it was a possible nonviolent solution to defeating Marcus. He was
the first to volunteer to be marked by Jean-Claude, knowing that the marks would make any power they had stronger.
This doesn't please Anita one bit, but when both their lives are at sake, Richard and Anita wind up with three of the
four marks.
