5/2/2001: More on 'The Hours'
The film is based upon the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by
Michael Cunningham, a homage to Virginia Woolf and her
book "Mrs. Dalloway", and it's about three women in different
places and different time periods in the 20th century. One is
Virginia Woolf (Julianne Moore), who is depicted working on
the novel "Mrs. Dalloway" in 1923 as she recovers from
depression, another is an L.A. pregnant housewife (Nicole
Kidman) who reads Woolf's novel in 1949 as she plans her
husband's party, and the third is a contemporary woman
(Meryl Streep) in 1990s New York planning what will be a
farewell party for an AIDS-afflicted former lover who called
her "Mrs. Dalloway."

The shooting for this film began at the end of January, 2001
at Pinewood Studios, outside London. The film's producers
are Scott Rudin & Robert Fox, Stephen Daldry is directing it
and the rest of the cast includes Ed Harris, Claire Danes,
Toni Collette, Eileen Atkins, Allison Janney and John C.
Reilly (in talks).

The release dates are still unknown.
