WINTER

Put snow suits, mittens and scarves in housekeeping. I have mine hanging on hooks that look like real fingers from Archie McPhee. Their safe and funny.

Bulletin Boards

ball Background Black... (trust me) Stick cotton balls all over the bottom to resemble snow. Draw some simple log cabins (or copy from coloring books) Cut them out and place on board. Splatter (lightly) some white paint to look like snow falling.
ball Background Blue: Place the large butcher paper on art table and let kids sponge paint with shapes. Circle, square, rectangle and triangle. Hang up in the (childrens) blackboard area which of course is eye level.

SCIENCE TABLE

ball Add a couple of cheap snow toys. The kind that you shake.
ball If it snows where you are at make a small, medium and large snowball. Freeze and set in bowls to see which one will melt first.
ball Also get some icicles in different sizes and do the same. Make sure you break off the sharp point at the tip.
ball Add white and blue color cans.
ball Stick a small branch in a coffee can (lined with white paper) of rocks. Leave bare for winter. Add white pom poms or cotton balls when it snows outside. If you live in an area with no snow wait until a large snow storm hits the north and add the balls. These kids do watch T.V. news and hear their parents talk about these things!

ball Easel paint with blue. Or white with blue glitter in it!
ball Take a walk outside to collect pine needle paint brushes. Use with blue and white to make light blue.
ball Let kids play with shaving cream for snow! Note: Watch what kind you buy. Some smells pretty bad while others are refreshing.

ball Brush on glue and sprinkle a paper plate with seeds.

Ask the kids what happened to Cordurory after you finish the story. Let them talk it out.
