me and my band

empty space is the name of my band. i didn't really like the name too much at first, as it sounds kind of negative..... but after talking to KC i've discovered that in fact, empty space is one of the most positive and beautiful ideas i've come across.

it's like a painting that hasn't been painted yet. the canvas is empty. the possibilities are endless. the painting can be whatever i want it to be. that's such a great feeling, to know that something can be whatever i want it to be. it's beautiful, it's free, it's exciting. it makes me feel that i'm in control, which is a feeling i don't get all that often, and it's a feeling that i love.

my band is whatever i (and the other members) want it to be. we've just started filling in the empty space of our canvas, and i can't wait to find out what we decide to put in all the other parts. our painting will never be finished, as long as there is some room to keep painting running parallel with the will to keep painting. and if we run out of room, we'll go grab another canvas and attach it.

when people paint they usually do it by themselves.... but when you're in a band it's like getting 3 people to paint one picture. we've thought about getting another guitar, but it would make things more complicated. i've always found i work a lot better in a 3-piece band. less people to deal with.
