Emilie's New Life Chapter 3 *Please don't be confused. I am changing the points of the characters to third person. This ultimately means that I am not sharing the story from Emilie's point of view anymore. I think I would rather do it from third person for a moment.* "Oh Gawd," Nick shook his head, as they watched Emilie run through the glass doors of the Plaza Motel. "What did I do?" "She's confused Nick," Brian reassured him. "I'd give her some time to think about everything." "Maybe someone should see if she's okay though," Howie suggested. "I will," AJ volunteered, and he chased Emilie out into the snowy Big Apple. He saw her run towards Central Park, which was opposite the Plaza Motel. He saw her collapse in the snow, and tears were streaming down her face. "Em?" "AJ, oh Gawd," Emilie cried, as she shook her head. "What am I doing?" "Come here Hon," AJ replied, and he pulled her into his arms. "You were being honest." "It's so hard," Emilie whispered softly. "But, I do love him AJ." "Nick knows that," AJ attempted a smile. "Maybe you two should just talk." "No way," she shook her head. "He already thinks I don't love him because I ran away last night. He's probably with Mandy anyway." "They broke up Em," AJ told her. "Last night, after you left, they had a big blowout." "Look what I have caused!" Emilie shrieked, as they both stood up. "I'm going home." "Emilie, no, it wasn't your fault they broke up," AJ assured her. "Look, Mandy and Nick were having problems before you ever entered the pictures. She's too pushy and their personalities clash anyway." "But, they looked so happy together yesterday," Emilie added, as snow started getting heavier. "How can a relationship change over night?" "Anything's possible with love," AJ replied, and he offered her a smile. "Come on inside Em." "Fine, but I can't see Nick," Emilie made him promise, and AJ just shrugged his shoulders. Tears still stung her eyes, as she followed him into the motel. She waited at the doors for a moment, until AJ persuaded her to come back into the restaurant. She noticed people in the restaurant watching her curiously, as she stood with AJ at the foot of the restaurant. Howie and Kevin were the only ones who remained at the table. "Em, are you okay?" Howie asked with concerned eyes, and she nodded slightly. "Where's Nick and Brian?" she asked in a soft voice. "Right here," said a soft voice, and Emilie turned to see Nick and Brian standing there. Nick looked incredibly sad, and her heart went out to him. Brian offered her a goofy smile, and she smiled back. He went and sat down beside Kevin, and took a sip of his coffee. Nick looked at Emilie and saw tears streaming down her face once more. She didn't know whether to run or hide or leap into his arms for a hug. "Em, I-I don't know what to say," Nick told her, and she nodded slightly. "I'm sorry I guess is a good start." "Why are you sorry Nick?" Emilie wanted to know. "I was the one who ran away." "You were confused," Nick replied. "Are you still?" "No, I mean, yes, I mean, well...I l-love you, that's for sure," Emilie stammered, and tears came to her eyes. "I just don't want to hurt Mandy or Joey or anyone else involved. Nick, I don't want to hurt you." "Emilie, how could you possibly hurt me?" Nick asked her, and she shrugged. "You have never hurt me." "And I never want to," Emilie told him, and Nick looked at her. "Do you love me?" Nick asked in a passionate voice. "Do you honestly love me?" "I love you," Emilie whispered, and tears came to her eyes. "But what about Mandy and Joey?" "Mandy and I broke up," Nick answered, as tears came to his eyes. "And Joey?" "I could call him," Emilie suggested, and she smiled at him. "Can I borrow your phone?" Nick reached for her hand, and she dialed Joey's number. She walked away from the table and felt her hand start trembling. This was too much. She felt pain strike her heart, as she dialed Joey's number. "'Lo?" he answered, and she felt tears pour down her cheeks once more. "Joey? It's Emilie," she said softly. "Em, what's wrong?" Joey wanted to know. "I can't go out with you tonight," she whispered. "I-I got back together with Nick." "What? Oh, okay," Joey replied slowly. "That's okay Em. I understand." "Really?" Emilie asked surprised. She couldn't believe he was taking this so softly. "Well I'm kinda bummed, but I understand about Nick and you," Joey replied honestly. "You guys were together for a long time. It's just natural you would still love each other." "Joey, I feel so bad though," Emilie admitted. "You have been so nice to me, and I hate hurting you." "Em, there are millions of other women out there for me," Joey replied. "You go with Carter and just remember that I'll always be here for you." "Thanks Joey," Emilie smiled, and tears came to her eyes. She flipped up the receiver and headed back over to the guys who were sitting around the table. Everyone had ordered breakfasts for themselves and were sitting around the table eating. She paused at the table for a moment and just admired the scene. She was so happy to be back in their lives again. They were always so good to her and she wished one day she could be as good to them as they always were to her. "Come and join us!" Kevin encouraged her, and she didn't wait a second. She sat down beside Howie and AJ, as Nick shot her a smile across the table. "Now, what do you want for breakfast?" "Just coffee thanks," Emilie replied. AJ offered her some of his toast and she thanked him. "What did Joey say?" Nick asked her. "He said no prob," Emilie answered, and he nodded. "So, are you all still going shopping?" "Of course," AJ replied enthusiastically. "I would never miss a shopping trip." "Cool," Emilie grinned, and took a bite of her toast, when she heard someone's phone ring. Nick picked it up and answered it. "Em, it's for you," Nick told her, and he tossed the phone. She wondered who it was. "Hello?" Emilie said, and she heard screaming in the background. "Emilie? It's Brandy!! Guess what?" Brandy shrieked into the phone. "What?" Emilie replied. She had just talked to her mom, and wondered why Brandy was calling her again. She desperately needed her own cell phone. "Mommy's going to have a baby!" Brandy replied excitedly. "She's going to have a baby in December!" "What? You're joking!" Emilie cried, as she heard someone take the phone. "Honey, it's true," Mrs. Parker told her. "I knew, but I never told anyone since there was complications with the birth since I am almost 45. I was scared I would lose the baby, but the doctor just said everything's fine." "Mom, is this a joke because it is...," Emilie said. "Emilie, why would I lie about this?" Mrs. Parker replied. "I'm due December 15th." "Omigod! This is unreal!" Emilie shrieked. "I have to come home soon." "You can come next weekend," her mom told her. "Grandma's here and she's going to help me out." "Oh, okay, well, congratulations Mom!" Emilie told her. Her mom thanked her and hung up so she didn't waste Nick's cell phone minutes. She leaned back in the chair and was trying to take the shock in. "What's wrong?" Brian asked her. "Oh nothing, except my mom's pregnant," Emilie replied and excitement crept through her body. When Brandy and Jordan were born, it had been exciting, but now it was unreal. She realized she wasn't going to see her new sibling grow up because she was going to be at College for their first six months. She sighed, and saw the guys looking at her with exciting eyes. "Wow!" Howie winked at her, and Emilie beamed. Everything in her life was changing more rapidly then ever and she wondered when everything was going to be normal again. She cast a smile at Nick and his eyes flashed back at hers. "Hey boys!" said a familiar voice, and they all turned to see Amanda, Mandy, and LeighAnne standing there. "Hi," AJ smiled, as Amanda came over and kissed him on the lips. "How was your shopping trip?" "Pretty awesome," Mandy replied in cheerful voice. "Hi Nick." "Hey Mandy," Nick replied, looking uncomfortable. "Nick, want to go get a cappuccino?" Mandy asked him, offering him a small smile. "I was going to go somewhere with Emilie," Nick replied slowly, and Mandy looked at her. "Oh," she nodded. "I see you two have reconciled your differences. How exciting!" "I'm sorry Mandy," Emilie looked at her, as tears came to her eyes. "I can understand how hurt you are." "I'm sure you care Em," Mandy shot back. "You got what you want." "Look Mandy, you can have Nick if you want him!" Emilie snapped, standing up. "I don't want you to be pissed off at me forever about it. Quit crying and take him." "But Emilie, you said-," Nick asked her. "I know I said I love you Nick and I mean it, but if Mandy is going to be unhappy, then I would rather you date her," Emilie answered softly, as tears poured down her cheeks again. "Em, please," Nick pleaded with her, and Emilie shook her hand. "Mandy, come on," Amanda begged her. "Be fair." "I am being fair," Mandy answered, as tears came to her eyes. "I really love Nick and she thinks she can bounce back and get him. I want to be with him more than anything." "Mandy, I'm sorry," Nick apologized and he pulled her into his arms. "But, I love you as a friend, but Emilie I love the most." "I know Nick," Mandy whispered to him. "I knew the day we started dating. Your heart will always belong to her." "Why didn't you say anything?" Nick wanted to know, and Emilie didn't know whether to run and hide, or stay with them. "Because I was scared to lose you," Mandy admitted, and she glanced at Emilie. "But obviously, Emilie and you belong together." "So, can I go with her?" Nick wanted to know. "No," Mandy replied softly. "I need you Nick." "But Mandy, I need Emilie," Nick answered softly. "She needs me too." "What does she have that I can't give you?" Mandy wanted to know, as she let go of him. "I'm prettier then her. I can be there for you more then her. I can love you more then her!" "Mandy, it has nothing to do with Looks," Nick answered. "I loved Em for a long time and I love her now." "Do you love me?" Mandy asked in a small voice. "I love you too Mandy," Nick nodded. "But I need Emilie." "I love you Nick and I want you to be happy," Mandy sighed. "This is the hardest thing I will ever have to do. I am letting you go." "I'm sorry Mandy," Nick apologized once more, and she hugged him for the last time. "Emilie, treat him good, because he is one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet," Mandy made Emilie promised. "I will Mandy," Emilie promised her. "I'm truly sorry." Mandy just shook her head and walked away. "I'm really sorry Emilie," Nick told her. "I never imagined I would end up hurting two of the people I love." "Nick, you never hurt me," Emilie replied with a smile. "I'm sorry about before. I really do love you." "How about a drink now?" AJ suggested, and everyone just nodded solemnly... Dalilia Ling walked into her office on a cold Wednesday morning, and shook her head at the snow that seemed to be lingering down around her. The front desk secretary handed her some mail, and she thanked her. She headed to the office staffroom and made herself some coffee. She yawned, and waved hello to one of her co-workers. She was exhausted. The night before, Katie had been up late with the flu and she was miserable as well. Her mother refused to take care of Katie because she had an important business function, so she was left in care of her part time nanny. "It's undeniable that we should be together, it's unbelievable that I used to think I found heaven..." the radio in the limo sang out, as Emilie rode with Nick, Brian, LeighAnne, AJ, and Amanda to have some dinner at a classy restaurant in the Chinese district. *Hi everyone!!!!! What's up?? I have to say hi to everyone! Hey to Rachel, Vanessa, and everyone else who has read my story. You are all so nice. I really appreciate you writing to me. I have to tell someone, I just heard a beautiful song by 98* called "The Gift". It's off their holiday album which is being released on October 19th. I can't wait. I think it's going to be really great holiday album. I don't know about everyone else, but I love Christmas so much. Holiday music has got to be my favourite type of music. I love holidays as well because there is such a sense of love and understanding that develops, that seems to be absent throughout the rest of the year. Okay, I'm getting sappy!!! Also, I heard that the Backstreet Boys have read this story. I don't know if it's true, but if they have, I am so honoured! I just hope they don't think I'm too much of a freak. Anyway, if they have read it, thanks for reading it! I really appreciate it! I'd better go! Thanks so much guys from the bottom of my heart. Always, Emilie :)* |
