ARTHRITIS :
Arthritis are mainly of two types Rheumatoid and osteo
arthritis.
CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS
Rheumatoid factors are produced in response to some
unknown antigen causing inflammation of synovial
membrane of the joint, bony erosions, fibrosis of
joint and joint effusion .It is seen more commonly in
small joints and hips are usually spared.
Osteoarthritis is more common in females and damp
conditions. There is destruction of articulator
cartilage and new bony projections are formed which
cause inflammation of joint. Pain is usually worse on
activity and eased by rest. Astound known as creptius
is elicited while moving the joint. Larger joints like
the hips, knees and spine are usually affected.
KIDNEY STONES :
Kidney stones occur when solutes come out from the
solution either because they are present in excessive
quantity (urine is over concentrated) or because of
lack of inhibitors of crystallization. The majority
are composed of calcium, magnesium, phosphate mixtures
or urate.
CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS
Less intake of fluid, history of dehydration, diuretic
or vitamin D therapy and certain disease like gout and
bowel disease lead to stone formations. Sometimes
stones are a symptomatic. Nausea, vomiting, sweating
and strangury are common symptoms. Sometimes if a
stone gets trapped in urethra or if there is
associated infection, fever and haematuria are common
symptoms.
Diabetes :
is a condition in which there is faulty carbohydrates
metabolism, so there is increase in blood sugar. It is
one of the most serious disorder of the metabolism and
if left undiagnosed or untreated, it may cause rapid
emaciation and ultimately death.
CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS
The disease is generally hereditary and people with
defective diet are more susceptible to it. A diet rich
in carbohydrate, fat and sedentary lifestyle are the
most common cause of diabetes. Diabetes mellitus is
due to decreased secretion of insulin from the
pancreas, which normally helps in the transfer of
glucose from the blood to the cells, in the absence of
which sugar accumulates in the blood. The onset of the
disease is gradual. The first symptoms are reduced
body strength and loss of weight. The urine output
increases, sugar passed through the urine also
increases trouble symptom is excessive thirst. Any
injury sustained by the patient is difficult to heal.
PARALYSIS
Paralysis are of different types partial, total,
paralysis in grown ups and children. Paralysis or
palsy means loss of muscular power due to some problem
in the Nervous System. Various technical names are
given to various forms of the disease. Hemiplegia is
applied to paralysis affecting one part of the face
along with the corresponding arm and leg. Diplegia
means total paralysis. Monoplegia is the paralysis of
single limb. Paraplegia means paralysis of both sides.
In Ayurveda Paralysis is mainly due to imbalance of
VATTA.
