Jackdaw - bird who was the first joke at the creation of Narnia in The Magician's Nephew. In the midst of cheering, the Jackdaw said very loudly at a quiet point, "No Fear," which was blurted out so obviously that one could not help laughing.

Jackle, Edith - one of the lackeys for the bullies in The Silver Chair. Is the child most responsible for Eustace and Jill entering Narnia. Is presumably chased and beaten by Jill when Aslan returns her to England.

Jadis - the White Witch. Called the Queen of Queens and the Terror of Charn. Half Jinn and half giant. Brought into Narnia by Digory Kirke after accidentally waking her and bringng her out of Charn into England in The Magician's Nephew. After terrorizing England is transported into Narnia at its creation. Grows in power and causes the 100 year winter in Narnia. Kills Aslan in place of Edmund at the Stone Table in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Is killed by Aslan after his resurrection. Nikabrik considers resurrecting her in Prince Caspian.

Jewel - unicorn and friend of Tirian, the last King of Narnia. In The Last Battle, Jewel fights against Calormene invaders before being killed in battle. Is seen in the New Narnia after the death of old Narnia.
