Nikki's * Pretty Baby

Welcome to Nikki's Perch

He is a

Yellow Collar Mini Macaw

We have had Nikki for eight years
but if I had to guess I would say
he is about 14 years old.

What attracted me to Nikki was his personality.
He loves to sit on your shoulder & give kisses.
And will do this to anyone. He is very people friendly
not like some birds that just bond to certain people.

Mini Macaw’s look just like the Macaw
except they are much smaller.
But I will never tell him that because he thinks
he is a "BIG Bird"
He doesn’t talk or at least nothing we can understand.
But he can say his name.

  Nap anyone?

As you can see from the pictures, his favorite past-time is sleeping. I have watched him fall asleep & lean all the way forward resting on his stomach or leaning with his head back as in the picture he almost
fell off of his cage.

He hates to be locked in his cage. First thing in the morning he wants OUT! Pacing the bottom of his cage peeking out from under the cover.

But at 9 p.m. he is ready for bed. And if you aren’t ready at that time he will let you know as he has a special 9 p.m. noise he makes.

His favorite thing to do is taking baths.
He seems to only want to take them when
I run the vacuum.

He doesn’t care for showers’ just baths.

His favorite food is red grapes
& his second is Pretzels. He is a picky eater.

He has been a very enjoyable bird
& I’m glad to have had a chance to share in his life.
