Dark Info

General Truth

True Dark Dragons are the compromise between Sneaky and Pure Dark Dragons. They are usually not as large as the Pures, but definitely larger than the sneakies, with more power and a bigger taste for meat.
Many of these type of dark dragons still live in groups, creating strength in numbers and thus forming a strong defense against attacks from the Pures, but numbers aren't always a sure victory and then the burden is always twice as heavy, with entire tribes being wiped out.

Types

1. Moon
Appearance: Moon Dragons are very dark, almost black dragons that, like their name gives away, have an afinity with the moon. These dragons have both on their head as on their tail, long bony outgrowths that hold a full-moon shaped bone circle. Aside from those ivory-white outcrops, the only other lightpoints on them are the small light-coloured spots on their wings and hair. It is said that a Moon dragon flying overhead almost looks like a clear spot in the perturbed Southern sky.
Personality: Moons would be considered social dragons on the Southern continent without close inspection. They mostly live alone or in small groups, but they often gather to exchange information and items amongst their species. On the other hand, they have little afinity for dragons outside their species and tend to only look out for their own needs and goals.

2. Crow
Appearance: Crow dragons are dark-coloured dragons with just a hint of crimson in their feathers. They have fire-red eyes and a beak they use to snap and devour their prey. Their large, strong talons assure that they can find footing no matter how slippery or even the surface. These scavengers can at times seemingly defy gravity. Crow dragons generally stay near the forest where the abun-dance of dead trees gives them ample living-arrangements. But crows have been known to thrive all over the continent, no matter how harsh the environment.
Personality: Crows are interesting dragons to say the least. They have a temper, a set personality and a know-it-all attitude. They can be stubborn and picky, giving their bonds a hard time on any age. But they are strong,  cunning and bold, qualities that make up for their flaws. Crows can live in group or solitary depending on their character. The young usually form bands to ensure safety while hunting and go solitary when seeking out a mate.

3. Wolf
Appearance: Like their name suggests, wolf dragons very much resemble wolfs. They have a characteristic grey-white fur coat, now and then marred with some brown that keeps them hidden in the Southern continent. Their claws give them steady footing on the forest and cliff ground types, making them able to run at great speeds. Though fluffy, you would not want to anger a wolf, since it is well-known that dogs don't forget a face for as long as they live ;)
Personality: Wolves live in groups that can range from small families, to really extended numbers depending on the situation. They follow the alpha male or female, or leave the troup (wolves are traditional that way) to form a new one. They spend most of their days hunting moss dragons on the Barren Cliffs to eat. Occasionally a small group hunts in the forst and loners have been known to go out on personal vendettas. Bonded wolves remain close to their bonder, but tend to give them a lot of trouble by being headstrong and preferring to do things their way.

4. Mummy
Appearance: Standing tall, these imobilised sarcophaged dragons may look like harmless bags of bones, but they know their way around magic well. Adorned with several powerful symbols and long, proby wing-bones they get around quite well in the modern world of the Southern Continent. It is said that at times they actually do get out of their coffin.
Personality: Usually seen as dusty and studious, Mummy dragons have come to enjoy the high society somewhat more in recent decades. They enjoy quiet talk of the latest spell books, who's doing what in the mausoleum and where to go to get the best bandage care. Nuissances will be dealt with as seen fit for the occasion. Persons vanishing in thin air or bursting into flames seem to be the latest fads at parties.

5. Whirlpool
Appearance: Whirlpool dragons are large, finned dragons with twin sets of twining horns. Their skin is a grey-aqua shade of blue that's marred with spirals and patterns. Their large, flexible fins serve two purposes. One is the dazzling speed with which they can navigate across the ocean floor, the other is their ability to create strong whirlpool currents that, when powerful enough, can take down a small sized yacht. Their brown eyes and elegance in contrast make them seem almost friendly.
Personality: Whirlpools, like the currents have fleeting personalities. Their attention can be called feeble at best, they hardly ever stop long enough to take an interest in anything that isn't themselves. They need a lot of space growing up and have a lot of energy to fend off. From young ages they will start to create whirlpools to draw in all sorts of food that can be found on the water's surface (insects, birds, fish, boats,...).

6. Drowned
Appearance: With a grey-blue scaled body and a muscular mermaid's tail Drowned dragons are quite good swimmers in the dangerous waters surrounding the Southern continent. Their sometimes dazzlingly coloured fins, that look like seaweed attract unwary prey to their surroundings after which they grab it with their razor-sharp bone claws. Their metabolism closely resembles that of a snake. The cold waters actually help preserve their skin and scales while slowing down their life functions enough to ensure that they can get by on very little.
Personality: Drowned dragons are rumoured to be the spirits or corpses of those drowed in the rapids and whirlpools surrounding the Southern continent. Whatever the case may be, these dragons do act rather vindictive. They carry grudges to anything living and rarely ever socialise. Each of the drowned has their own territory in which their reign is supreme.
