Fire Info

General

Fire dragons always live near the volcano and can be considered the most a-social of all the Lyrian dragons. They almost never leave their birthgrounds and are quite content to swim around in hot lava, basking in the heat.
All six breeds can vary considerable in traits, some have wings, some have tails, etc. They all share the same colours though, all fire dragons go from black to red to orange to yellow.
Fire dragons possess the power to control fire in any of it's form. They can ignite fires from ash and vice versa.

Types

1. Fire
Appearance: Fire dragons are your average fire dragons. They have the yellow and  orange colours along with the fiery tail and the burning orange eyes that give their face extra character. They are dragons of the Earth type so they don't have wings or fins.
Fire dragons live close to the hot lava core of the Volcano, residing on the soft slopes. Fire dragons often wander outside the main Volcano to find streams of
hardened lava which they love to nibble on.
Personality: Fire dragons are laid back creatures until you meddle with their doings. They are very stubborn and will defend their ways. It is always best to let a fire learn on it's own what to do in certain situations. They are very independent and stay that way even if they are bonded. They will however always be ready to defend their riders (if it suits them... but mostly it does :p Would you let the one who feeds you get killed?)
Size: Medium

2. Phoenix
Appearance: Phoenix dragons are large bird-like dragons. Their multiple tails start of black and then brighten all the way to their heads until they are bright yellow. Phoenix dragons were named after the mythical beasts of Earth. They don't have arms which makes caring for them a bit harder than for the other Fire dragons since a hug might be wounding ;).
Their favourite activity is to dive in the hot lava to catch the small
transparent insects that live there.
Personality: Phoenix dragons are serene know-it-alls. They are very secretive and mysterious and will drive an impatient bonder crazy with their riddles and quests. Don't ever try to change a Phoenix, they know that change can only come after years of wanting it and therefore try to change themselves until they are perfect. Any mention of them having to change means that they are imperfect and on the wrong path which hurts them deeply.
Size: Large

3. Sun
Appearance: Sun dragons have black bodies with a golden glow that lightens them. The glow comes from their wings, tail and hair which is on fire. They carry a miniature sun on their Egyptian like hair.
Sun dragons mostly live near the top of the volcano where they have a clear view of the surroundings. They enjoy trying to forecast the weather and have gotten quite good in it. Sometimes people even come to them for advise and bring them their favourite food: ice cream.

Personality: Sun dragons are fairly traditional. They don't like change and look at every proposal of so called progress with cautious eyes. If things are good know, they reason, why should they be changed?
As their name suggests they adore the sun. These are the dragons that can be seen soaring high above the peninsula on sunny days. They are always trying to get closer to the sun. Reaching for the impossible.

Size: Medium

4. Lava
Appearance: Lava dragons are a more grey- orange kind of dragon. They are highly evolved to live in boiling lava with a sleek slender body,  razor-sharp pins on their hands to cling to rocky terrain and an immensely strong tweezer-shaped tail that can crush rock and everything else that might block their trail.
These dragons live in the very core of the Volcano sometimes venturing as far as the core of Lyria. It is still unknown what Lavas like to eat, they seem to do ok on
volcanic rock and minerals... but where they go to snack can only be guessed at.
Personality: Lava dragons are cheerful and good- tempered. They enjoy obeying very much and will do everything for their riders. Think of them as very intelligent dolphins. They are playful and even the most tedious shore is fun for them.
And like dolphins they also have a form of synchronised swimming they compete in. It is a sport that involves many jumps and tricks high in the air as well as a slower form under lava.
Size: Small

5. Smoke
Appearance: Smokes are a very special kind of Fire Dragon. It is said that they are in fact a cross between a fire and an earth/air. They range from light grey to black with transparent smoke around them. Their wings at one time seem like glowing embers and at another can burn with the intensity of lava of a volcano at the verge of exploding. The eternal fire burning in them is reflected by their bright yellow-gold eyes.
Smoke dragons are quite good in disappearing in the area around the volcano and that is mostly where they live, munching away on nutritious
volcanic rock.
Personality: Smoke dragons are quiet dragons that shy away in the area around the volcano where they keep the abandoned dragons company. They are very charitable and will help out whenever and wherever they can. Smokes can nearly smell the good in their possible bonds. Only the ones that they dub friendly enough will they bond, though now and again a Smoke has been known to take his charitable feelings too far and bond someone that didn't deserve them.
Size: Medium

6. Vulcan
Appearance: Vulcan dragons are large glowing red dragons that love to disguise themselves as nearly molten rock. The only thing that gives them away is the gold of their eyes and the fire burning in their ears.
Vulcans spend most of their lives underground. They spend so much time out of the sun that when they do go out you can see their veins running under their skin.
Their most favourite food is lava from the running
pooha-type with a little ash crunchy layer covering it.
Personality: Vulcan dragons are hot tempered. This is most likely why they don't get out much. They are very flammable and ignite their anger at anyone when they are irritated. They are relatively pessimistic and therefore irritated by all those fluttery optimistic dragons like the Lavas and the Butterflies... and please no Corals in their vicinity or they go beserker.
You're probably wondering if they have an upside involving their behaviour. Well in fact they have one. If you take them to a party one look will be enough to get you a seat at the bar ;)
