Spirit Info

General

Spirit dragons are possibly the oldest dragons on Lyria. It has been suggested that all the elemental dragons evolved from them. No-one can be sure however.
Spirit Dragons are special because they have two sets of wings. Sometimes these wings are functional, sometimes just for show.
All Spirit dragons are trained from the moment they are born. In the temple they learn to meditate, see the future, move objects with their minds, astral projection and many other skills. Most spirits have a talent in one specific category.

Types

1. Spirit
Appearance: Spirit Dragons are pale purple. Like all spirit dragons they have two sets of wings, some can even argue that they have more depending on what you count as wings. One of these sets of wings seem to be on their head, though it is unknown if they are functional. The second set is on their back and a third are the two large diamond-shaped paddles at their tale. They can use them as rudders and glider wings.
The spirits are snake-like in form and might be the most Eastern of the Lyrian dragons. They have small legs and large paws making them move rather slow on land, but then they are never in a hurry.
Spirit dragons are very easy to take care of. They aren't as high up as some of the other spirits and will thus eat everything you place before them, but
no cheese (don't know why... they just hate cheese)
Personality: Another special trait beside the two sets of wings are the facial tattoos every species of Spirit has. For the regular Spirit dragons that is a dotted line extending from their neck to their nose.
These tattoos give away vital clues about their personalities. The dotted line symbolises harmony and sociability. Spirit dragons are very harmonious and sociable, they enjoy company and will never offend anyone talking to them (not knowingly that is).
Size: Tiny

2. Angelic
Appearance: Angelic Dragons are larger than regular spirits and also more powerful. They are white with a silver shade on their body, and have metallic-coloured wings and hair. They braid their hair as a status symbol, the longer the braid the older and more skilled the Angelic.
Angelic dragons tend to have periods in which they are absent-minded. Their thoughts run through the universe seeing whatever it is they wish to see. At these times they can be irritatingly difficult to take care of. Reports have been made of Angelics only wanted to eat that special kind of flower growing on the highest mountains of Lyria or things only found in the Southern Continent.
Personality: Angelic Dragons have a small golden, silver or bronze circular tattoo around their eyes that describes their aspirations. The circle is a perfect form, round and ever returning. The colour of the tattoo, wings and hair is also an indicator for power. Gold (the colour of the sun) is highest, while bronze is the lowest (an earthly colour). Angelics are born with silver colouring and stay that way until they reach perfection at old age. After they are one with everything they get a golden sheen that darkens until their skin is golden. Not many Angelics reach this level, but when they do there is a freak eclipse with the new perfect Angelic flying high to light the world.
Size: Large

3. Pegasi
Appearance: Pegasi Dragons come in all colours of the rainbow. Their colour genes are highly mutable though they mostly seem to come in a rather pastel-hue. The preview on the left is a medium grey-purple Pegasi. Notice the long flowing hair on both head, legs and tail in a brighter shade. Their wings, mostly grey, are feathered and very very soft to the touch.
Another thing to notice about the Pegasi is that they are marked with flower-leaves around eyes and on their hooves. Like all horses they love to eat
grass and leaves, though preferably from the spring variety for it's juicy fresh taste.
Personality: Pegasi Dragons, like said before, have leaves around their eyes. These leaves represent the Pegasi's understanding of nature and the relations between all living things. They have a clear view of the way things are connected but don't often enlighten mortals in their way of seeing.
Size: Medium

4. Star
Appearance: Star Dragons are the only dark-toned dragons among the spirits. Legend says that they got their dark midnight blue and black colouring from gazing at the stars every night. As a camouflage their wings developed clear star-shaped spots while the hair on their head and tail started to grow in multi-pointed bright tassels. Star dragons are also yellow-eyed.
Star dragons feed in the night since they mostly sleep during the day. If it
shines in the moonlight they will eat it (never leave jewellery out). They have a very stable stomach and can handle almost everything they get fed.
Personality: At first sight Star dragons don't seem to have a tattoo. This of course is untrue (and certainly not something the drawer forgot to add). They have a tattoo but is invisible against their dark skin. Sometimes you can see small flecks of silver lighting up in the difuse light of a full moon, this is their tattoo showing through.
The invisible sign adds to their already considerable mystery (Why are the black? Are they even spirits?). Stars don't often come out at daytime, but they do gather at night to watch the stars and read the past, present and future in the cosmic light.

5. Light
Appearance: Light Dragons are very yellow. Like their distant cousins, the Lightnings they have bright yellow pointed wings and tail. Their tail is shaped like a burning flame and seems to radiate in the light. Like all Spirit Dragons they have a pale complexion and two sets of wings. Their second set of wing makes up for the absence of arms. These smaller wings are very sharp and they use them to keep threats away and bring food to their mouths.
Lights don't really need food, but they like the taste of it (especially
cucumbers). Most of the time however they extract energy from the sun's rays.
Personality: Light Dragons have a bright sun with flaming rays radiating out tattooed on their face, this makes it hard to actually see their faces since the light is nearly blinding and covers most of their head.
The sun depicts their joyful, optimistic nature. Lights are always hopeful and give strength to those in fear and doubt by lighting their path.

Size: Small

6. Snow
Appearance: The first thing you notice about a Snow Dragon is that it brings cold with it. Just seeing them can make you shiver. They have padded white wings riddled with blue veins and covered with razor-sharp frost that's mostly gletsjer-blue in colour. Their body is white with shades of grey and blue. They too have a second set of fuzzy wings sprouting from their arms. The Snows use these wings to greet each other by giving warm hugs. Their tail splits into half a dozen spikes that look like quartz crystals. Their hair, if possible, is even more crystalized. Long transparent horns end in more crystals that reflect the light.
Snow dragons live of the only resource they have aplenty in the northern regions. They eat
snow, ice and icecream, if they can get it :)
Personality: Snow Dragons have a tattoo shaped like an ice crystal. This crystal is the same on all Snow dragons showing their great uniform spirit. Snow dragons are very traditional and distant. They don't easily trust humans and are the second hardest to get a hold of (the Angelics being the hardest). They appear cold and uncaring to the outside world but this is just a pose.
