Water Mixes
When some dragons mate they tend to
create some rather peculiar offspring. On this page you can see what you can
expect from clutches.
In all there are three mixed breeds that have been spotted in the waters of
Lyria. It is unknown if others exist, or if they'll ever surface.
If two mixed breeds breed (is this still making sense?) there will of course
be mixed breeds, but also any other dragon type that can have this type of
breed as an offspring. Not all dragons resulting from a mix breeding will be mixed
breeds by the way, there
will be some dragons resembling the parents as well.

1. Tetra
Appearance:
Tetra dragons are very small fish with head fins, a
back fin, two square tailfins and two sidefins they use for swimming and
navigating in the water. There most noticeable feature are the bright
luminescent lines on their sides and fins. When they swim past it's like
seeing small neon signs fly by, flashing in all possible colours. Tetra
Dragons are very small and live in the seaweed foretst, often accompanying
seaweed dragons, feeding of the plankton
and seaweed
that surrounds them.
Personality: Tetra Dragons enjoy
attention and love to be around others of their species in such a way that
they rarely ever bond solely. Usually the two to three dragons that have
shared an egg will bond to the same person, leaving room for another dragon
if the opportunity comes knocking (only on Lyria, ask the owner of other
agencies first if you wish to adopt another dragon offworld)

2. Jellyfish
Appearance:
Jellyfish Dragons are medium -sized dragons with a
jelly shield floating around their fragile serpentine bodies. this shield
has to be grown once outside the egg, making them really vulnerable for a
short time. Not all of the tail gets covered in this sheild, but it has it's
own basic defense mechanism, spikes of hardened skins stand up on it's skin,
secreting poison when they are in danger.
When Jellyfish survive their first scary weeks of life, they roam the ocean
solitary or in larger groups, floating like real jellyfish, letting the flow
take them wherever. On the way they eat small
sea organisms and bits of plants
and seaweed, pulled loose from the plants.
Personality: Jellyfish are prickly
Dragons. At best they are friendly to one person, at the worst they just put
up with their bonds. They are too single-minded to really appreciate a
life-term bond and thus rarely mate for life.

3. Whale
Appearance:
Whales are very large dark-coloured dragons that
live in the depths of the ocean, their skin is very smooth and oily to glide
through the water. They have a ridhe of fins on their heads that is mostly
for show, but also helps feel the currents of the water. It is rumoured that
they also pinpoint other dragons with these fins, and schools of fishes
to eat.
At birth these dragons have four limbs and are not entirely water-ready.
They spend their first months in shallow waters, while gradually their two
back flippers merge with their bodies,
Personality: Whale dragons are innocent,
intelligent and a bit wary against newcomers. They sometimes take a time to
get used to new humans or dragons in their surroundings, but their
kind-hearted temper is bound to take over soon enough to welcome the
strangers.
