Pictures of the North

As you can see
Lyria is a large continent covering the Northern side of this distant
world. The main ocean covering this world is called the Giant Ocean.
Left of the Northern Continent the Ocean becomes dangerous and undeep with
rocks sticking out of the water, these are called the Treacherous Rocks. On the other side of these rocks, on the right
side of the Continent, we can find another sea; the Celestial Sea. Between
these two seas lies the calm bay and the beach where most Water dragons
live, play and guard their eggs.
To the North you can see a vast mountain range that is a home to the Air
dragons.
Behind these mountains there is eternal snow and ice with temperatures
dropping far below zero. This is probably why the Snow dragons come to live
here in solitude. (Better have your warm cloths with
you if you're trying for one of those...)
In front of the mountains lays the big and evergreen forest where the Earth
dragons live. In the middle of the forest is an large clearing, the Glade.
This is where the meetings are held and the records are kept. It is the mind
of Lyria. All travellers have to go there once to register and enter a
clutch before they can adopt a dragon.
To the right of the forest, where the Weeping Willow Forest section makes
way for grasslands stands a peaceful Temple, the home of the Spirit dragons.
It is a place of silence and rest where everyone can find shelter and
guidance. (There are enough spirit dragons around that are bored)
Before the Central Forest where the land ends in water lays what is called 'The
Beach'. It is in fact the shore of the continent, several beaches linked
together around the bay and the ones further along the Celestial Sea. The
sands are dense, the colour a soft yellow that absorbs heat quickly. A
lot of Water Dragons love to have there afternoon nap near this Beach.
At the end of the bay you see a lone dark mountain, standing tall on a piece
of land that points into the Ocean. This is the Volcano where Fire Dragons
rest. It is not very easy to get there with all the geysers and lava flows.
But from afar you don't see the violence of the core of Lyria. The beauty of
the mountain around sunsets and sunrises is known far and wide.

This picture
was taken on a misty morning. You can see the mountains in the back and in
front of you the forest with the glade. Travellers from other worlds come
here to learn more about the Lyrian dragons. Since this picture was taken
from the top of the Library (We had to persuade Rycli) it isn't showing in the
picture. It was the only one with such a magnificent view of the mountains
however.

The mountains,
the home of our Air Dragons. The forest is behind you now and you can see
why the Air Dragons are happy there: lonely peaks, a good beginning for a
good flight. In the grassy plains in front of the mountains live a lot of
Earth dragons.

Behind the
mountains we can find the Icy waists; the home of the Snow Dragons. This
snow never melts and you would think that the snow goes on for ever and
ever; nobody knows... People have tried to see how far the snow went, but
never returned...

The Temple,
the home of the Spirit Dragons, is a peaceful place. Inside Spirit dragons
get their first joined lessons about meditation, levitation (which is easy
when you have wings) and precognition. Later on Spirit dragons often train
solitary in the grass field areas around the Temple which are constructed
following Feng Shui rules.

At the edge of
the Northern continent a Volcano stands. It is said to scare away the evil
Dragons of the Southern Continent.. We don't know if that is true, we only
know that this Volcano is the home of the Fire Dragons. Between the volcano
and the Temple we
find the Lyrian Cities, they provide food and clothing.
