Pictures of the South

The Southern Continent still remains a dark mystery. It is divided into 9 regions that bear dark names: Devil's Isle where the people live, the Dead Forest, the Barren Cliffs with the haunted lighthouse, The Swamp -so terrifying it doesn't need an adjective-, the Ancient's Desert with the Pagan Pyramid, the Deserted Hills where the dead roam around, the Wild Sea and the Screaming Cliffs.

Devil's Isle is the great island located in Midnight Bay. Since the skies are scorched on the South of Lyria it is always lit by torchlight. The light of the torches and the absolute darkness of the main continent -to human eyes that is- makes the Isle seem like a gate to Hell.
Devil's Isle is also the main adoption site. Eggs are stolen from the wild dragons in the continent for the wild clutches and now and again there is a regular clutch.
The two dragons that call the Isle home are the Demons, though they tend to wander and the Dark Magics.

IMAGE FOREST

The Dead Forest takes up quite a lot of space on the Southern Continent. It forms the heart of the landmass and was the place where the first dark dragons were born. It is riddled with caves, underground lairs and dead wood woven to impregnable walls where creatures hide in the eternal night. The forest might be one of the safest places on the South, which still doesn't say much since one run in with a Night or Crow means you can bid your life farewell.
Among the dragons of the Southern Continent the Nights and Crows are the ones most commonly found in the Forest.

IMAGE CLIFFS

The Barren Cliffs are a flat rocky outcrop to the South. At the very tip of it stands a Lighthouse that was built in the old ages before humans came to Lyria. It was made with Dark Magic Dragon Magic. It is always activated and emits a strange dark black light that illuminates all that is good in it's rays.
These cliffs were the first to be explored. You can see miles in every direction and posses a steady ground for running. The barren cliff got their name because all that will grow there is a strange type of dry greenish moss.
Dragons that like it there are the Dwarfs and the Wolves that hunt them. In the haunted lighthouse the ghosts of dead dragons mourn their dead while Seducers lure new victims into their waiting claws.

IMAGE SWAMP

The Swamp is the most dangerous area of the Southern Continent. Not even demons go in there if they don't have to. It is a maze riddled with deadly trap holes and quicksand that suddenly appears under foot. These moving patches of oblivion were the first reason to leave the Swamp alone. The second were rumours about an unknown dragon species so deadly no-one has ever seen it and left with his lives intact...
Those brave enough to search the swamp have made note of two dragons native to the place. The oozing Swamp dragons and the light, agile Grims.

IMAGE DESERT

The Ancient's Desert is a dry forsaken place with sandstorms and ever changing patterns of dunes. It has an eerie kind of beauty, the type that you prefer to see from a comfortable place at home. It looks unusually colourful for the South, but the shades of yellow, orange and red soon fade from the mind and are replaced by visions of the so wanted blue to appear at the horizon.
The Southern desert isn't a place where dragons easily survive. The life that it does host is centered around the pagan pyramid where the mummies and scarabs live.

IMAGE HILLS

The Deserted Hills are rumoured to be the home of Death himself. People and dragons tend to vanish more often in these parts of the Southern Continent than anywhere else in all the South, not even the number of newbies dieing in alleys on Devil's Isle can compete with these numbers. Hence it was the ideal place to put the Shack, the all time place to get your provisions for your dragon. Small to Medium dragons are advised to go in groups while the large dragons are monitored to stay solitary as to not form murderous groups... but even these sometimes vanish.
These hills are a home to two kinds of dragons. The ever grazing demon goats and the deadly reapers.

IMAGE SEA

The Wild Sea is a large bay riddled with rocks and whirlpools. If the sea had been anywhere else on Lyria the bottom would be littered with sunken ships, but as it is no-one is foolish enough to try sail these waters. There is no telling where the rocks or whirlpools will be because they tend to move over night.
Stories tell of a land that was there long ago, before the meteors struck. They say there were elaborate cities there that were swallowed by the raging seas while other parts of the South were lifted up out of the water. They also say the ruins are still guarded by dragons, but who knows?
Dragons roaming the Wild Sea are the Chaos Dragons and the Whirlpools.

IMAGE SCREAMING

The Screaming Cliffs rise high in the air starting at the end of the Deserted hills and down to the Wild Sea where they gradually seize to exist. They form a small barrier between the sea and the land. Large caves have been formed in the giant walls by waves crashing against them in stormy weather. There is a lot of that around the Cliffs.
The Cliffs got their name from the screaming that can be heard there. The spirits of a drowned city and the diving dragons that try to save them still perform their little unending act of history as each night the divers try to reach their loved ones but cannot find them in the dark of the overcast skies.
Dragons hatched at the Cliffs are the Divers and the Drowned Dragons.
