Buffy Fanfic

Okay... so call me a one part fanfic Queen, baby! ;) Really. I start something and I never finish it. Aye.. I need to work on that. :) I wrote this one part for a Buffy fanfic a couple of years ago... I believe during the summer after first season. But it's a cute one part! Ehhh... ;) Enjoy either way, m'buds.

“Happy day...Ohh, happy day!” Xander sang in pure and utter happiness. He leaned over to pick up another tub of leftover popcorn from the theater’s floor. He poured the remains into his large tub, placed the empty one back on the floor, and continued on with the next.

With an expression of complete boredom, Buffy turned her eyes to Willow. “Are we really still sitting here?”

Willow continued to watch Xander with content. It was obvious she had not heard a word Buffy had said.

“Hello? Will?” Buffy paused and raised an eyebrow when she received no response. A faint, teasing smile rose on her lips. “Staring much?”

Willow’s eyes grew wide, “Wha?!” She turned toward Buffy with a look of horror.

“Oh, Will...” Buffy uttered softly, with a smile and a shake of the head.

A small smile crossed Willow’s lips.

“Come on,” Buffy urged. She took hold of Willow’s hand, stood up, and began to lead Willow out of the theater.

“Hey! Buffy! Will!” Xander called after them, emptying his last tub to complete his leftover popcorn tub.

Buffy and Willow continued to walk out.

Xander kept his leftover popcorn tub in hand as he jogged after them. He caught up with them just as they had left the building, walking inbetween the two.

Xander took a handful of popcorn and stuffed it in his mouth. He held the tub out to Buffy, “Waaant some?”

Buffy eyed the tub and then gave Xander a look. “Xander, I usually like my popcorn nice and hot. You know, the way it is when you first buy it?”

With a wave of his hand, Xander brushed her comment off. “Buffy, you underestimate the tastiness of free popcorn.”

Willow smiled faintly at Buffy, “That’s true, Buffy. Free popcorn certainly does have a taste factor.”

Xander and Willow exchanged the popcorn and Coke cup, enjoying the food.

Buffy raised an eyebrow, “Well, free popcorn or not, I’m just happy to have a night at the movies like a normal teenager.”

Raising his cup as if to toast to Buffy, Xander chimed in, “Now there’s lookin’ at the upside.” He quickly took a drink and switched back with Willow their food.

“Is there ever really an upside? I mean, even if there’s an upside, there’s always gotta be a downside to an upside. Do you think there’s a down-upside?” Willow asked innocently.

“Willow, you have too many thoughts,” Xander replied.

As Willow contemplated with herself if she really does over-think, they walked in silence for a while.

As they walked under a street light, it suddenly flickered out. An amount of tension sprung up between the three.

Buffy wrapped her arms around herself, glancing around in the dark. “Why did we come here to see Scream 2?”

Xander smirked, “Please, it’s the only movie playing in Sunnydale.”

“Then why did it have to be that movie? I would be willing to bet all my make-up that Scream 2 is already out on video in any normal town while we’re on the short end of the stick.”

“Somebody sounds a little displeased,” Xander said in a mocking voice.

“Well, I think it was highly over-rated,” Willow added to the conversation, finally coming out of her earlier thoughts.

Buffy nodded, “You know, what they say is true. The blond girl always runs up the stairs.”

Xander glanced at her, “Buffy, you’re a blond...”

Buffy turned her eyes to Willow for support, but found her looking at her just like Xander. She began to fidget under their eyes. “Don’t look at me that way! I would never run up the stairs.”

Willow turned thoughtful, “Unless the man was at the bottom of the steps, and there was nowhere left to run, in which case running up the stairs wouldn’t be a bad thing.”

She looked at her friends only to find them staring at her. Willow smiled, “Oh, that’s right...too many thoughts.”

Buffy grinned at Willow before continuing, “Anyway, that girl had a thing or two to learn.”

“And her name--Cici? What kind of a sissy name is Cici?” Xander exclaimed with a grin.

Buffy and Willow exchanged glances. They kept walking ahead of him, linking arms.

Still standing there, looking after them, Xander groaned, “You know! Cici...Sissy...ya know?!”

Xander looks around, noticing that he is truly by himself. He holds the tub against his chest.

“The dark is my friend...the dark is my friend...the dark is my---”

Xander hears a loud noise behind him, screams, and drops his popcorn. He begins running after Buffy and Willow, where they had just rounded a corner. “Guys! Wait for me!”

Like I said... one part! And written two years ago! And I believe Little Will was the only one to ever see this... ooh... :)
