Coming Home

I'm holding my breath
So I don't miss the tone of your voice
It dips down into unchartered territory
And all I can think is how I love when you're vulnerable with me
Don't hold back baby
You're safe, you're safe with me

I'm smiling so softly
Fully knowing you can't see me through this telephone
I just like hearing you joke with someone else
It's amazing the little things I've come to miss during the time away
You just being you
That's all it takes to make me do what I do

I feel my heart softening
I didn't think it could soften more than it already has
I just wish I could reach out and hold your cheek in my palm
We all make mistakes, we all have regrets
We all make choices we wish we could take back
But we forge ahead
And grab hold of the promise of a fresh start today

I'm feeling so passionate
Brimming over with this desire to make sure you know
That you will find your way home
Listen to your heart pounding in your ears, it won't be ignored
And you won't be denied
This homecoming waiting for you.
