Flecks of You

There’s a bit of red mixed in with that white
Something to tame it from being so bright
But it’s that very essence that makes you you
A delicate balance of every single hue

There’s a touch of purple clouding your eyes
Thinking of yourself permeates your sighs
Some may see it as a hindrance
But I see it as simply another step in your dance

There’s a hint of green hiding behind the shadows
A linger of the desire of “only me” in your vows
You don’t want to see someone else in my sight
But little do you know, you have nothing to worry about tonight

There’s a fleck of blue still caught within your heart
Memories of yesterday haunt you through every part
But it’s this trace that brought you to where you are
A beautiful woman still shining up amongst the stars

There’s a morsel of yellow battling its way through
The hope of a chance for us to build and renew
This color doesn’t make you anymore weak than the rest
It’s just the one that challenges you to be your best

And underneath all these colors, your white is always on display
It peeks through in certain moments, the one that forever stays
It’s the very essence of who you are, pure and true
It’s your white, your red, your purple, your green, your blue
Your yellow and so many more that form the woman I love – you.
