I'd Fight for You

These tense shoulders give away more
Than what clouds in front of these eyes
I can’t stop thinking about you
No matter how hard I try, just how I’ve survived

I want to shelter you, protect you, but I know
There’s no way I can protect you from the truth
So I sit here and let my shoulders say it all
Rubbing tenderly into my heart and soul

I wish I could trade places with you
Spare you just one moment of heartache
I’d stare Satan in the eye once again and fight for you
I’ve got enough fight left in me for you

But this isn’t my fight
...And I know it
My shoulders show it
And my eyes silently close
As I continue to hope and pray
That fear won’t win out one more day.
