Perfect Fit

I don’t know why you try to push me away
When I really am here to stay
It isn’t true when you say everyone leaves
And I’m going to be the one that helps you believe

I know you never asked me and I know you never would
But it’s not something I can control – I’m simply here for good
My heart has settled into the very thought of you
It cuddles up to it no matter what we’re going through

The funny thing about love
Is that it just waits for a spark
And if you would let me close enough
I could light up your heart

It’s still there deep inside
Even though it’s trying to hide
I want to make you churn and burn
Because my soul is beginning to yearn

For its mate to come back home
Our souls were never meant to be alone
Still, it waits here so patiently
For your hand to insert the key

Because that key is a perfect fit
It always was from the start
And with a twist, my lock submits
And you hold the treasures of my heart.
