Secret

Sometimes God hits you upside the head... and sometimes he speaks ever so softly that you have to pay attention to hear Him. He seems to like speaking softly to me...

Do it softly
Because sometimes my head gets too noisy
It is then

Brush it gently
Across the patterns of my heart so I can see
Only then

You have a secret and You keep it
But I long to hear You whisper in my ear
You are unfolding a beholding
But the how and the when grow blurry
Still I wait in faith that someday it’ll become clear.

Say it firmly
When I ask for guidance down on one knee
I beg and plead

Push me tenderly
Into courage abandoned and let me not flee
It is then indeed

You have a secret; please don’t keep it
Tell me the words, just whisper in my ear
You are unfolding a beholding
And I want to be a part of this
There’s not one thing I want to miss

Quiet answers
My heart beats faster
It’s in the silence I hear
As softly my belief draws near.
