This poem is being put up here in tribute of my travel agency, Expedition Travel. It was a wonderful dream, and I hope one day I can dream within it again.
Got a phone call today
I made that purchase
Done so quickly
It now sits there in the corner
Who knew

Says things are going to be different
Better pack up and realize
That you’re no longer going to be existing
You’re going to full-on be alive.
It was more symbolic than one could imagine
It was a choice to do something unknown
To take a first little step into the darkness
And hope I can reach the dawn.
Out of my bank account goes 150
Just another sold purchase to this woman
I take the receipt, my eyes full of awe
Wonder, excitement, and possibly above all fear.
Waiting to be opened, used, worn in
One might think I’m weird for all the staring I do
But it’s the epitome of possibilities
Dreams are now becoming realities
A fax machine could mean so much to one girl
But I look at it and see the woman I’m becoming
The future merging into the present
Still so many questions, so many what ifs
But amongst it all, a hope, a sense, a knowledge
That I will be content...
That this woman has begun her ascent.
