Caves
Caves was the first place that we fished  at Quobba. We caught nothing there. Then we went back again with the same results. Both times the swell was high and only the bait fish were biting. We could see many fish in the water, they just wernt biting. For most of our stay at Quobba people were expressing their dissapointment at the amount of fish being caught. The only people having any real luck seemed to be those out on boats. They were reeling in heaps of pink snapper. Actually, some of those guys might want to read up on their "Fish for the Future" rules. Not so much the guys on the boats but some of the people fishing along the coast at Quobba station were pulling in and keeping fish that looked to be well below the size limit. Lack of big fish isn't an excuse for keeping the small ones.
Caves was also good for bottom fishing but after getting snagged heaps of times we decided to go for floats instead.
Halfway down the hill to caves. The walk is pretty similar terrain to that of Garth's but a bit longer.
The bit of rock sticking out is the best spot to fish with lures at caves. Remember to watch the waves though.
