When you click on an "Add to Cart" button to purchase one of our kimono, obi, haori, michiyuki, or uchikake, you will be taken to a secure site hosted by PayPal. PayPal is a service that processes credit card transactions for online merchants. Many of the millions of transactions that occur on eBay are handled through PayPal. Transactions through Pay Pal are secure, easy, and private. We never even see your credit card information! We use a PayPal shopping cart. It should be noted that although you can change the quantity of items in your shopping basket, every item offered for sale on KimonoSource.com is a one-of-a-kind item, so please don't order more than one of the same item!
The first page on the PayPal payment portion of your transaction will be a screen that has their company logo and the name "Tanuki Goods" at the top. "Tanuki Goods" is the official name of our company - "Kimono Source" is just the name of our Web site, so please don't be confused when you encounter the name "Tanuki Goods."
If you already have a PayPal account, you know that your transaction won't take but a minute or so. If you don't already have a PayPal account, you will click a button and be asked for some standard information (name, credit card info, address, email, telephone) and asked to create a unique password for use on PayPal. From there, the transaction is almost complete.
Purchases through PayPal for Kimono Source products will appear on your credit card bill as "PAYPAL*KIMONOSOURCE".

How is shipping and handling calculated?
Shipping and handling is calculated on a flat basis. Please refer to the following chart:

I don't live in North America. Can I still buy Kimono Source goods?
If you live outside of North America, please contact us by email at info@kimonosource.com and let us know which piece you'd like to purchase. We can work out alternate payment and shipping methods. A word of caution to our international customers, however. Please be aware that upon delivery of your package, your country may require you to pay customs charges, a value-added tax (VAT), or other fees. These fees can sometimes be surprisingly high, so please check with the regulations of your country in order to avoid such surprises.
Does Kimono Source charge sales tax?
If you are a Massachusetts resident, PayPal will figure in standard sales tax. Otherwise, there are no charges beyond the price of the item and shipping/handling.
How does Kimono Source ship my order?
In general, we ship by United States Postal Service Priority Mail. Delivery from our door to yours usually takes no more than 3 days (excluding Sundays) within the continental US. International delivery times depend on the country in which you live, and are therefore, less predictable. Other forms of shipment, including express service, can be arranged. After an order is placed, we will send you a confirmation e-mail in order to verify your shipping address. At that time, we ask if you have any special requests such as express shipping options. Because we are a small business, we are very flexible and willing to work with you to make you satisfied.
