The Year of the Horse
Horse Years and their Elements
Horse is linked to the ancient Chinese element of fire. Fire is a dynamic, exciting sign, which is enhanced by horse's innate Yang tendency. The energy of fire can be expressed both positively and negatively. It brings warmth, light, and protection as well as the ability to burn and destroy. In horses, fire expresses itself erratically, making them both dynamic and temperamental.

Water is a communicative element and enhances the horse's already verbose nature. It allows them to be humorous and witty in thier conversation. Although inconsiderate and self-centered, water horses endear themselves to others by being charming. They cultivate daredevil personae that allow others to excuse their shortcomings. Water exploits the horse's nervous energy and these horses keep active and like to live by their wits.

Fire - Wood
1954, 2014
Wood has a calming influence on the horse. Wood horses are more cooperateive and helpful than other horses. They should watch out for others trying to take advantage of them though, as wood diminishes the horse's perceptive abilities, making them too gullible at times. Wood helps to settle the horse's nervous energies. Emotionally, therefore, this horse is not so prone to depression and bad moods and will be mostly happy and good-tempered.
