Monkey Years and their Elements
Monkey is linked to the ancient Chinese element of metal. This is a very strong element. I can be seen positively as a valuable resourse, such as gold; or negatively as a weapon, such as a sword. In monkeys, the energy of metal expresses itself as thier imaginative, ambitious, and independent streaks.
Metal - Metal
1920 - 1980
Metal is monkey's natural element. Double metal multiplies the monkey's intelligence but also increases aggressiveness. Metal monkeys are extremely independent people, simply because they feel superior to their peers. Metal monkeys are materialistic and, fortunately, have a knack for making money. With their nerves of steel, metal monkeys like to take risks and can be successful gamblers as they are fortunate people.
Metal - Earth
1908 - 1968
Earth is a sympathetic and balancing element for the metal-dominated monkey. It grounds these otherwise flightly people. Atypically, earth monkeys are studious, dutiful, hardworking, andn thorough. They are patiend and scientific in their approach to solving problems. Earth enhances the monkey's natural intelligence, making them more intellectual. Earth monkeys have cutting tongues. They can be harsh in their criticisms of others. For this reason, these monkeys may have difficulties in their personal relationships.
Metal - Water

Water and metal are a harmonious combination. Water monkeys aer cooperative and understanding people. They are almost too sensitive and will see implied criticism where none is meant. Water enhances the monkey's already gregarious nature. Yet water monkeys are complex characters. Enigmatic and secretive, they keep their true feelings well hidden. These monkeys are prone to mood swings and are notoriously fickle.

Wood is fortunate element for monkeys. It helps to focus and stabilize them. Wood monkeys are friendly and approachable people. Couple with metal, wood makes the monkey very resourceful and a great problem solver. In fact, wood monkeys are remarkable people. Wood is a creative element, so monkeys born in these years are likely to be artistic. They are also gifted communicators who have a strong sense of ethics.
Metal - Fire
1954, 2014
Strong metal combined with passionate fire creates a powerful and dominant but aggressive people. Fire also makes this monkey the most competitive of all monkeys. They are driven to succeed. Yet fire and metal bring conflict to the monkey. Fire monkeys have great potential but they tend to overstretch themselves. They do not always respond to challeneges in the best way. These monkeys need to accept their own limitations and act accordingly.
