So far, there has been little sign of any hard evidence that could prove Arthur’s existence. However, if there was any such evidence, the Arthur legend would most likely not have lasted so long and this website never created. It seems almost strange that so much has been written on a man who may never have even existed but then, at the same time, it has always been the unexplainable that has attracted the attention of man. Perhaps something of this Arthur can be explained by actual hard evidence, and by this I do not mean literary evidence, but archaeological evidence.
The textual evidence from historical documents is scarce and, what little there is, seems to have many gaps and there is uncertainty as to whether or not they are reliable. The unfortunate fact is that even the so-called archaeological evidence, or hard proof, doesn’t go very far in proving Arthur’s existence or, if he did exist, who he actually was.
