Unlike so many sites out there, I'm not going to just copy somebody else's walkthrough and paste it in here; I've written my own.  Of course it takes a while longer, but that's the price to pay for a walkthrough that you can actually understand what all the items are (and not just a translation).  With that said, I do require my permission if anyone is to use this walkthrough on their site.  E-mail me at kingbahamut0@yahoo.com for any questions or if you'd like to use this walkthrough.  As for the walkthrough itself, I will avoid talking about most plot sequences as it will take away from the experience of the game if you read it here first.

Part 1: Northern Crater

Before heading off to the final confrontation, now's the time to finish any sidequests you want to do.  Also make a final stop by Bugenhagen to get Red's ultimate weapon.  Ok, when you're ready, head for the northern crater in the highwind and drop on in.  When you reach solid ground, make your way to the bottom left and drop down into the pit.  Make your way down the path and don't worry about the crumbling rocks as you can still jump the gaps.  The first treasure chest you'll get has a Save Crystal.  There are no save points in the crater and you can use this once to place a save point.  A Guard Source is in the other chest.  Moving on to the next area, make your way down the steps until you find a Guard Source.  Don't go on the edge of the ledge as you'll fall; instead grab the Mind Source in the other chest.  Now climb the ledge to your left and go all the way to the left side of the screen.  Climb two more ledges and go to the right to find a Magic Source.  Go back left, then up, right, and up again.  Head to the far right, climb the high ledge, and go left for an Elixir.  Go up to another ledge, head left, and climb some more to get a Power Source.  Go to the right for an HP Absorb materia.  Jump down and go right to climb another ledge to take you back to where you started.  Now head back down until you reach a large room with a bunch of holes.  Go right, fall, and find a Mind Source on the left side.  Jump up a ledge, go left, fall, and head right into the passage to find a Megalixir.  Go back outside and walk to the left until you fall down again.  Grab the Hero Drink on the right.  Head left to find a passage which will lead to a Guard Source and a Power Source a little further along the path.  Go back outside and keep climbing to find a passage to take you back to the top of the screen.  Go right, drop, right, drop again, and head into the passage.  On the other side, go left, fall, left, fall, right, and fall again.  Climb down to your friends and you'll get the choice to take the left or right path.

RIGHT PATH: Follow the winding path and jump down through the gap when you get there.  On the right is a Mystile and on the left is an Elixir.  Keep moving until you reach a large area with a Speed Source at the top.  There is also a Tetra Elemental materia hiding between a couple columns on the bottom of the screen.  Now head right and up and left at the branch for a Megalixir.  Return for the other path and another Megalixir will be waiting for you on the right.  Stay on the path and you'll eventually find your other friends.

LEFT-UPPER PATH: Jump down to the branch and head to the right.  Jump up to the next branch and you'll reach a Magic Source.  Go back to the first branch, left, up, and onto the rocks.  Make your way into the water and wade to the other side.  Head left and up for a Remedy.  Go back right and hop to the upper branch to continue.  Now go to the far right for a Hero Drink.  Take the northern path and go left to get to a Vaccine.  Find the path leading to the top of the rock to find the Shield materia.  Jump straight into the water to find an Imperial Guard.  Tap down to dive under to the other side of the screen.  Now head down and to the right for the next area.  Work your way to the center of the screen and head north to find the W-Magic materia.  Go down and right to the shining light and examine the dark spot for the Counter materia.  Then head left and up to be reunited with your allies.

LEFT-LOWER PATH: Jump down and grab the Remedy on the left.  Go right and jump up to reach an Elixir.  Head back to where the remedy was and jump down to find an X-Potion.  Go down and right to the next screen, jump down, and go left for a Turbo Ether.  Head right and up for a Vaccine.  Head left and down to the next screen.  Proceed to the right and jump down to the ledge below.  Go left across the bridge, down, and right to some stone slabs.  Go down the stairs and grab the Turbo Ether on the left.  Jump down to a ledge from here and then to the larger ledge above you.  Tap Circle when the hovering ball is near and you can get the Mega All materia.  If you miss it, jump back and try again.  Walk to the other edge of the larger ledge and get the Speed Source.  Head south, jump down, and keeping going down until you catch up with everyone else.

Before you get to the area with your friends, you should probably use your save crystal.  Use it in the spiral path area with the glowing green inside.  When you talk with your friends and decide to proceed into the center of the crater, make sure to talk to everyone as they'll have gotten a treasure from the path you chose them to take at the beginning of the crater.  When you're ready, head down the path of floating stones to get to the series of final battles.

Part 2: Final Battles

=======================================================

BOSS: Jenova*Synthesis - 60000 HP; arms 10000 and 8000 HP - weakness: none

=======================================================

If you have 4x cut on Cloud's ultimate weapon and two mimes, Jenova will be gone in a matter of seconds.  Her attacks are weak but you can still haste and regen yourself if you want.  If you let her countdown from 5, she'll use Ultima on you.  Use strong physical attacks and magic if need be for an easy win.

=======================================================

You'll eventually get the option to divide your entire party into three fighting groups.  Don't worry about splitting it up; just keep your main group and divide the rest.  You can change between parties in the next battle but it's not really necessary.

==============================================================

BOSS: Bizzaro Sephiroth - A: 40000 HP; B - 2000 HP; C - 10000 HP; D - 4000 HP; E - 4000 HP

==============================================================

The first form of Sephiroth has five parts to him.  After defeating a part, you'll get the option to change parties, but as I said before, you shouldn't need to.  Cast Haste, Regen, and Wall on everyone to start things off.  If you have the 4x cut on Cloud with the ultimate weapon, this should be another short battle.  Have your other characters attack part C (the orb) until there's a statement saying Cloud can now attack part C.  Use strong magic attacks if physical attacks aren't very strong.  Use Cloud to take care of the other parts while doing this.  Once part C is destroyed, polish off the rest of the parts.  If you have two mimes, just keep miming the 4x cut and all the parts will die in a short time.  His attacks aren't much of a concern if everyone is hasted and regenerated, but he does have one attack that will reduce everyone to 1 HP.  In that case, use a Cure3 on all and let regen do the rest.

==============================================================

===================================================

BOSS: Safer Sephiroth (One-Winged Angel) - 72359 HP - weakness: none

===================================================

Now for a little fun, although this isn't that tough of a boss.  Start with Regen, Haste, and Wall on everyone.  Sephiroth will use Wall on himself, so use DeBarrier to get rid of that.  Sephiroth has a large variety of attacks causing up to about 5000 HP damage, but there shouldn't be much to worry about health-wise as long as you keep hasted and regenerated.  The 4x cut-mime technique comes in extremely handy here and you can defeat him in one round that way.  Knights of the Round can also end the battle very quickly.  But for those without those advantages, use strong physical attacks but make sure everyone has a strong magic of some sort because he can fly out of reach of physical attacks (at least those that don't have long reach).  As long as you keep healed, you should have no trouble as you'll wear him down with basic attacks and limit breaks as they come along.  Ultima linked with a high-level Quadra Magic is also a nice combo.  You can also use the usual tornado, break, comet, etc. for other options of magic attacks.  Also use some strong summons like Bahamut ZERO, Alexander, etc.  Another note for this battle: Sephiroth seems to be much harder when Cloud is at level 99, but as long as you're not that high, he should be a breeze.  If you made it this far (and especially if you defeated the weapons), he's not going to stop you from finishing the game.

===================================================

There's a really nice looking FMV sequence that takes you up to the very last battle with the best enemy in the Final Fantasy series.

=====================================

BOSS: Sephiroth - (100000 HP+???) - weakness: none

=====================================

One on one, mano a mano, Cloud versus Sephiroth.  Do you have what it takes?
