  • Gene played guitar on Plaster Caster, Almost Human, Killer, Cadillac Dreams & Great Expectations (among many others).
  • The guitar solo that Ace Frehley played on the song Christine Sixteen is an exact duplicate of the solo played by Eddie Van Halen on the original demo he and his brother Alex recorded with Gene Simmons in 1977.
  • Right before joining KISS in 1982, Vinnie Vincent was a staff songwriter for the TV program, "Happy Days". Vinnie wrote all the songs that Joannie and Chachi sang on the show.
  • Peter Criss was in a near-fatal car accident around the time of Dynasty that was kept very quiet. Anton Fig and Richie Fontana played drums on Dynasty. Peter played a little as well.
  • Anton Fig played drums on Unmasked.
  • Paul Stanley played the guitar solo on I Stole Your Love (1st part), I Want You (1st part), C'mon And Love Me (Intro/solo), Sure Know Something, A World Without Heroes, I Love It Loud and all of this songs on Unmasked.
  • Animalize is KISS' biggest selling 80's album having sold well over 2 million copies.
  • Bruce Kulick played the guitar solo on Lonely Is The Hunter because Mark St. John couldn't get it right.
  • Half of Ace Frehley's face on the cover of Hotter Than Hell was super-imposed because he cut it in a small crash he and his car had with a telephone pole. He couldn't apply make-up to the cut part of his face.
  • Jean Beaviour (from The Plasmatic) played the bass parts on Get All You Can Take and Thrills In The Night.
  • Eric Carr passed his audition for KISS with the following songs: Detroit Rock City, Black Diamond (with vocals), Is That You?, Firehouse and Strutter.
  • Paul Stanley badly cut his eye during the filming of the Uh! All Night video. Paul was also involved in a car accident on July 4, 1990. He was in the back of a limo at first, but wound up on the front floor from the impact, injuring some of his ribs. A few shows from the Hot In The Shade tour had to be postponed.
  • Dick Wagner (session guitarist) was brought in by Bob Ezrin to play the solo on Great Expectations and rhythm & lead guitar on Sweet Pain from Destroyer.
  • Bob Kulick and Rick Derringer played guitar on side 4 of Alive 2 except for Rocket Ride which was Ace.
  • Vinnie Vincent was fired twice from KISS. Once at the end of the Lick It Up European tour, but was subsequently re-hired for the American leg of the tour. Fired for good after that.
  • Mark St. John was "officially" let go from KISS due to Reiter's Syndrome (a form of arthritis), but a lot of it had to do with the fact that he had a bit of Vinnie Vincent syndrome as well. The symptoms are I WANT TO BE A GUITAR GOD which did not appeal to Paul & Gene.
  • Eric Carr's last concert with KISS was November 9, 1990 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
  • In the early days and following the success of Black Diamond, Peter Criss threatened to quit the band if the other guys didn't write songs for him to sing on each album. Peter was also known back then to throw a drumstick or two at one of his band members if they were standing in front of his drums too long and blocking the audiences view of him.
  • Ace played bass parts on Torpedo Girl (among others). Ace played all the guitars on Shock Me and also recorded the vocals to that song while lying flat on his back on the studio floor to deal with his nerves.
  • Eric Carr's early choice for a stage name was Rusty Blade. The name was mixed obviously, but Eric used it as his hotel check-in name when on tour.
  • Scheduling problems forced KISS to leave the studio pre-maturely during the Hot In The Shade sessions. Many of those songs were 24 track demos.
