Camelback Kiwanis Moves Location!
Camelback
Kiwanis has moved our meeting location and meeting dates. We are
now meeting at Donovan's Steak and Chop House at 3101 East Camelback.
We are going to be meeting on the first and third Thursday at 12:00
- 1:30. Club activities will be planned for 'off weeks.'
Recent Activities:
Camelback
Kiwanis had a very successful Work Weekend where 12 members descended
on Camp Womatochick in Prescott. The club paid to have a contractor
level and grade the roads. The club also built several new redwood
picnic tables to replace broken tables. The highlight of the weekend
was building a new regulation size beach volleyball court (on the
side of a mountain.) The club installed 2 durable poles a redwood
border and 32 tons of sand. The camp is ecstatic about the upgrade
and has had tremendous feedback from camp attendees.
CBK
spend a day ringing Salvation Army donation canisters at the Fry's
on Camelback and 7th Avenue on December 12th. We estimate several
hundred dollars donated to the worthy cause.
Camelback
Kiwanis sponsored built and participated again in the APS Electric
Light Parade. The theme for our float was "Every kid is a star."
We had approximately 30 kids from our K-Kids club at Kennilworth
Elementary riding the float singing christmas charols. This is the
8th Year we have done this project. We won 2nd place in the 'spirit'
category.
CBK
had our annual Christmas Party on December 15th at our esteemed
President's house. President Pacely did a fantastic job hosting
(as always) and everyone had a great time.
Coming up:
Sun Stroke Open.
Camelback Kiwanis is running our annual fundraising golf tournement.
The tournement will be held at the ASU
Karsten Golf Course. The tournement will be a modified scramble
start. For more information, please contact Jim Anderson at 602-604-9190

Mazatan Trip.
The International commitment for Camelback Kiwanis will be our
somewhat annual trip to Mazatan Mexico. A group of Kiwanians will
be making the treck south of the border to help build a better community
for the small community near Hermosillo. We will be bringing many
hard to get items suck as wheel chairs and posibly funding for a
garbage truck.
