David Canary to leave All My Children
ABC states that David Canary will be heading for Los Angeles in January with the rest of the cast of All My Children. However, several inside sources state that Canary, who has already lost one of his twin characters to head writer Charles Pratt, Jr.’s murder plot, is only going for a short time to wrap up his story line and fulfill his contractual obligations. Both of the Chandler twins, it appears, will soon be gone from Pine Valley.
Although fans will be disappointed, it appears that ABC Daytime head Brian Frons is accomplishing much of what he wanted with the move. Frons, who has continually shown that he prefers youth and beauty to talent, will, with the loss of the 71-year-old Canary, have a daytime drama with only one actor over 60 – the ever-youthful Susan Lucci.
There is no word at this point regarding what Canary plans to do after wrapping up his work with the show, but it seems unlikely that the hard-working actor will retire.

All My Children Moving to Los Angeles
All My Children, which has been taped in New York for 39 years, is to move to Los Angeles in December, according to a press release from ABC:
"All My Children" and "One Life to Live" are getting new homes -- but you can still catch them at their old times. ABC Daytime announced today that it would move production of "All My Children" from New York to Los Angeles and that "One Life to Live" would move into "All My Children's" former New York space, giving both shows facility upgrades and streamlined production models. "All My Children's" new facility is twice as large as its current one. It includes two stages, which will allow it to keep more standing sets. It will also allow the series to switch immediately from standard-definition to high-definition TV. "One Life to Live" will enjoy similar upgrades when the show moves into "All My Children's" old home, which is 30 percent larger than "One Life to Live's" current space. After the show relocates in December, "All My Children" will begin taping episodes in Los Angeles the week of Jan. 4, 2010, and will begin airing in HD in February.
There is no word at this time as to whether all of the show's actors are planning to make the move.

A Shocking Death on All My Children
David Canary discusses the death of All My Children's Stuart Chandler in an interview with TV Guide Magazine.
April 14, 2009
The End of Stuart Chandler
Adam Chandler
Stuart Chandler
According to a script that has been released, All My Children's Stuart Chandler, the "good twin" of evil businessman Adam Chandler (both played by David Canary) is shot to death by someone aiming for his twin during the May Sweeps.
Canary has played the identical Chandler twins for a quarter of a century now, longer than anyone else has played a dual role on daytime television.
All My Children, like all daytime dramas, has continually dropped in ratings over the past few years. Head writer Charles Pratt, Jr., appears to be taking a calculated risk to bring it back up. Whether the loss of Stuart Chandler will save the soap, or possibly destroy it, remains to be seen.

Gala honors those who build homes for the community
Greenwich Post - Greenwich,CT,USA
The ninth annual Hearts & Hammers Gala will be a held Saturday, Feb. 9, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency, 1800 East Putnam Ave. in Old Greenwich.
The black tie-optional event benefits Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County, which serves communities from Stratford to Greenwich.
This year's gala will honor three people who have supported the issue of affordable housing in various ways, namely, actor and talk-show host Charles Grodin; Susan Ross, president and chief executive officer of the Fairfield County Community Foundation; and Sanford Rubenstein, partner in the law firm of Rubenstein and Rynecki with offices in Connecticut and New York. David Canary, Emmy Award-winning actor on ABC's All My Children, is the honorary chair.
"Hearts & Hammers is Habitat's major fund-raising event in the region," said committee chair Denise DiGrigoli Amuso, partner and co-owner of Troy Art & Framing, a Fairfield-based firm that has served Greenwich and other southwestern Fairfield County communities since 1999. "This year Habitat aims to build affordable homes for at least 15 working families in Stamford and Bridgeport. All of the volunteers planning this event are proud to be helping make the American dream of home ownership come true for these families."
Guests will enjoy cocktails and a three-course dinner, with dancing to live music by the Rob Fried Band. The evening will feature live and silent auctions of unique experiences, vacation destinations and theater packages. WEBE 108 personalities Storm N Norman and Anne Rondepierre will be masters of ceremony.
Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County is an independently operated affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Dedicated to making shelter a matter of conscience, the organization challenges individuals, churches, synagogues, businesses and other organizations to lend a hand to those in need of better housing.
Named Urban Affiliate of the Year for the Northeast Region in 2005, the local Habitat affiliate is the leading supplier of affordable homes for purchase in Bridgeport. This year, construction begins on six condominiums in Stamford, toward a goal of serving 200 families in coastal Fairfield County by 2010.
Tickets for the Hearts & Hammers Gala start at $300 per person, with tables for 10 available at $2,500. To receive an invitation and details, call the Habitat development office at 333-2642, ext. 104, or e-mail development@habitatcfc.org.
