How long does it take to heat milk?
My sister Mary is only eight years old. We have milk
for breakfast every morning.
One morning Mother said to Mary "Take a bottle of milk,
put it into hot water, and keep it there for five minutes.
Five minutes is enough" At breakfast, Mary brought the
milk. It was too hot for us to drink "Mary" said mother.
"why is the milk so hot?
I told you that five minutes was enough to make a bottle
of milk hot, didn't I ?
"But Mother" said Mary "there were three bottles of
milk.
So I've kept the milk in hot water for a quarter of
an hour"

우유를 데우는데 걸리는 시간은?
내 누이 메리는 겨우 8살이다. 우리는 매일 아침 조반에 우유를 마신다.
어느날 아침 어머니는 메리에게 "우유 한 병을 갖다가 더운 물에 집어넣어 5분동안 담가두어라"
라고 말씀하셨다.
조반때 메리는 그 우유를 가져왔다. 그 우유는 너무 뜨거워서 우리가 마실 수 없었다. 어머니는
"메리야 . 우유가 왜 이렇게 뜨겁지?
5분이면 우유를 데우기에 충분하다고 내가 말했잖니?"
라고 하셨다. 메리는 " 하지만, 엄마. 우유가 세 병 있었어요. 그래서 우유를 더운 물 속에다
15분동안 두었던 거에요"라고 말했다.
