 'SHOWGIRLS'

(B) Structuring itself as a historical look at the showgirl tradition, this revue pays homage to old-fashioned Las Vegas spectacles while having only 11 topless dancers. Nonetheless, it sparkles on the massive stage of the Rio's Samba Theatre, making you wonder what could have been if "Showgirls" had stepped up just a bit beyond its budget and slight hour's length to be a legitimate competitor to "Jubilee!" or "Folies Bergere." (4/26/02 M.W.) "Showgirls" will be presented at 11 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays in the Samba Theatre at the Rio. $43.95. 3700 W. Flamingo Road. 777-7776.
