1. 상태동사와 행위동사

        1) 상태: 동일한 상태가 지속되는 진술을 할 때.
            The room is clean. The laywer owns the office.
            The box contained old books.

           * 상태동사는 보통 진행형 시제를 쓸 수 없다.
              틀림)
The laywer is owning the office.

        2) 행위: 무엇인가 발생한다는 의미를 진술할 때,
            I'm cleaning the room.    The laywer is buying the office.
           He put the books in the box.

            * 행위동사는 단순 또는 진행형 시제를 쓸 수 있다.
           He put / He was putting everything away.

            * 상태동사들: be, believe, belong, consist of, contain, depend on, serve, exist, hate, know, like,

                        love, matter, mean, own,  need, prefer, remember, resemble, seem, understand 등등

2. I think / I'm thinking 의 용법

    때때로 '상태' 이거나 '행위'에 대해서 한 동사를 사용할 수 있다.

 1) 상태 (단순시제)
     I think you're right. (= believe)
     We have three cars. (= own)
     I come from Korea. (= live in)
     I see your problem. (understand)
     Do you see that house ? (= have in sight)
    This picture looks nice. She appears very nervous. (= seems)
    The bag weighed five kilos. The coat fits. (= is the right size)

 2) 행위 (단순 또는 진행형)

    I'm thinking about the problem
   We're having lunch. (= eating)
   I'm coming from Korea (=travelling)
   I usually come on the plane. 
   Mark is seeing his boss. (=meeting)
   I see Chul-soo quite often.
   I'm looking at this picture. 
   She apprared/ was appearing in a film.
   They weighed/ were weighing my bag.
   I'm fitting a lock to the window.

   * 다음 be 동사의 예들은 사람들이 어떻게 행동하느냐에 관한 것이다.

     a) 영구적인 특징
         Chul-soo is a very socialble person.     That man is a idiot.

     b) 일시적인 행동
         Chul-soo is being very sociable today.
         You are being an idiot this morning. (= You are behaving like an idiot.)

   * 다른 사물들에 관해서가 아니라, 행동에 관해서 말할 때만 am/are/is being 을 쓴다.
         I'm better now, thanks.      Are you ready ?    Is anyone interested ?

        3. I like/ I'm linking 등등.

            -  짧은 시간에 동안의 진술을 할 때 진행형속에 일부 상태동사를 쓴다.
    
            영구적인 상태 (단순시제)                   짧은 시간 (진행형)

              I love/enjoy parties.              I'm loving/enjoying this party.
              I like shcool.                           I'm liking school much better now.
              Holiday cost a lot of money.    This trip is costing me a lot of money.

         - 때로는 아무런 의미 차이 없이 단순시제나 혹은 진행형을 사용할 수 있다.
             You look well. 또는 You're looking well.
