About Us
LadyCycleRiders Motorcycle Club of Central FL In 2001, founding members, Jorean Washington (past president 6yrs) and Linda Bailey (current President) envisioned the mission the LadyCycleRiders as networking women who enjoy riding to plan exciting, empowering and bonding, riding adventures. This mission would also include hosting and participating in community events with goals that promoted safe motorcycle riding through education, fitness, and women’s health awareness. Since then, the LadyCycleRiders have hosted and help to organize events to raise money for the Breast Cancer Awareness, Lupus Foundation of Apopka, Victim Service Center of Orange County, participated in a women’s only home building project for Habitat for Humanity and raised items for Harbor House Center Against Domestic Violence. The ladies have ridden in support of other motorcycle clubs in central Florida supporting their efforts to raise money, school supplies and toys for Anthony House, Marines Toys for Tots, and for injured bikers. Promoting motorcycle safety and bicycle safety for kids have brought the LadyCycleRiders to local community health events. Jorean Washington (vice president) recently received certification as a Motorcycle Safety Instructor to help the club keep focus on this part of their mission. After attending the Florida Department of Health’s Bureau of HIV/AIDS Sistas Organizing to Survive Conference, Linda Bailey (President), got the support of the LadyCycleriders to initiate several projects to raise the awareness of HIV/AIDS among Black women in our community by “Taking the S.O.S. Pledge”. Their continued efforts surrounding HIV/AIDS have been recognized in the Orlando Times. Other LadyCycleRider members include Kerri Pound, LaKeisha Farmer, Mollie DiBartolo, Sabrina Williams, and AJ Carbone. Local business & community sponsors include: Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention (CMWP), Orange County Health Department, Sisters Network, Dyana Williams, the Guardian, Inc. and many others.
