The kittens we
sell as pets (sometimes called
Companion Quality) exhibit some
trait or traits that we do not wish
to continue within the breed. Examples of
these traits are a tail
that is a little long, short, or thin; ears
that are a little longer or pointed.
We sometimes have beautiful kittens
available as pets, with good contrast, dark
markings and a very leopard like appearance.
Some of these beautiful kittens may posses
a genetic flaw, like a kink in the tail or
rib bars. None of these faults put the
kitten at a health risk, but does eliminate
the kitten from a breeding program or the
show ring.
Most often, the
quality that distinguishes a pet quality
Bengal from a breeder quality Bengal is so
subtle, it can only be seen by a
knowledgeable breeder.
Our kittens are evaluated at about 5
weeks of age and priced according to the
individual merits of each specific cat.
Prices start at $600 for pets and can range
as high as $1,000 or more.
Keep in mind that this price is the initial
price of owning a Bengal kitten. There will
be continuing cost for quality food, visits
to the vet for an annual exam and
vaccinations and sometimes unexpected costly
medical treatments, etc. If you cannot
afford the initial price of a healthy Lextin
Bengal, you are unlikely to be able to
afford high quality care for the fifteen or
more years the cat is likely to live.
The price does not include shipping. If you
are unable to pick the kitten up yourself we
do ship Air Canada, with weather
permitting, anywhere in Canada. If a kitten
must be shipped, shipping fees (airfare,
shipping carrier, etc.) typically come to an
additional $150.00 (give or take). Cats
cannot be shipped via bus, train, or parcel
post.
It is true that you just might find a Bengal
kitten offered for a little less than what
we ask. However, the rule of “getting what
you pay for” does apply.
The purpose of the
deposit is to insure the Purchaser’s intent
to purchase a cat or kitten from LEXTIN
Bengals. The cat or kitten is being held for
the Purchaser and will not be sold to any
other buyer. The deposit is not refundable
should the Purchaser, for any reason, change
his/her mind about purchasing the
cat/kitten.
It is important that the purchaser abide by
the word and split of this agreement.
Failure to do so through neglect or
avoidance to communicate, on can jeopardize
the chance of finding the cat/kitten a new
home as quickly as possible. For this reason
deposits are not refundable.
Although deposits are not refunded, the
deposit may apply to the purchase of any
other cat/kitten made available by Lextin
Bengals at a later time.
