- I learnt to snorkle with a mask before I could swim.
- I've always kept a mask handy ever since.
- I finally became a licensed diver in 1995
- and upgraded this to Advanced Diver in 1997.
- I've dived in Hong Kong, Phuket and the Red Sea.
- Many waters in South-East Asia
- have known my roving snorkle.
- I have a passion for swimming,
- for diving and the grace and
- danger of underwater life.
- I just often wonder what
- we humans are doing down there.
- To protect, to learn?
- Or are we just jaded travelers
- with an insatiable taste for the unknown?

- Writing is my meditation, my life, my love
- and my means of survival.
- These are often hard to reconcile.
- I started writing as a craft
- at the age of about fifteen.
- Much was inspired by the fantasy literature
- that so preoccupied me at the time.
- By seventeen I took to writing poetry.
- Much of my work is bound in some
- twenty or thirty scrappy notebooks
- which I will one day edit and organise.
- I have been learning to write screenplays
- these last two years, and have a finished
- script in circulation.
