DESCENDANTS OF AUGUST GOTTFRIED TRAPP
August Göttfried Trapp, was born in Schwessin, Kreis Köslin, in Pomerania on 12th of August 1829, son of Johann Willhelm Trapp (farmhand of a shepperd) and Louise Catharina Treichel. The family soon after moved to Khotlow, also in the Kreis Köslin, where was born Caroline Wilhelmine, on 21 Jul 1832. Their mother died on 17 de Sep 1833 in Schwessin and Johann Wilhelm marries Sophie Buchweiz, from this marriage were born in Kothlow three other children: Friedrich Wilhelm Trapp (*12 Jul 1835, + 27 Nov 1840 in Kothlow), Friederike Dorothee Wilhelmine Trapp ( *2 Jan 1837) and Wilhelmine Sophie Friederike Trapp (*1 Mar 1840).
August Göttfried Trapp grows up in Pomerania and marries later to Emilie Buske. The couple had one child Caroline Emilie Johanna Trapp and soon after leave their motherland in Pomerania and come to Brazil.
Life at Pomerania at the middle of the 19th century was not easy, due to the lack of land to settle the growing population (land passed by heritage only to the oldest son ) and general empoverishment. At the same time, the Brazilian government was trying the fill the almost inhabited Southern Brazil and avoid Argentina filling these blanks, so agents were hired to bring immigrants to Brazil in exchange of a piece of land and some tools and seeds.

They arrived in Porto Alegre, Brazil on December 11th 1868 on the ship Isabel (take a look on the passenger list here), spent a few days on the city and left on December 19th. They headed to the Colony of Santo Ângelo (now Agudo), where thay arrived on January 9th 1869.
Sometime later they moved to Santa Cruz, lived in Costa da Serra (now Candelaria) for at least 10 years, and finally established in Formosa, at the Colony of Dona Francisca (see a map with all those cities here). Besides their daughter Caroline they had more 6 children (2 men, 4 women), one of them stillborn:

August Gottfried Trapp died on 28 Aug 1909, leaving 29 grandsons, read the obituary.
