'In their interviews, the FBI agents have also named two Israeli diplomats stationed in Washington and asked whether they would be willing recipients of sensitive intelligence, the sources added.
'The investigators have asked questions about personnel in the office of Pentagon Undersecretary for Policy Douglas J. Feith as well as members of the influential Defense Policy Board, an advisory panel for Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, according to former U.S. officials who have been questioned and others familiar with the case.
'Investigators have specially asked about a group of neoconservatives involved in defense issues, including Feith, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz, Iraq and Iran specialist Harold Rhode and others at the Pentagon. FBI agents also have asked current and former officials about Richard Perle of the defense board and David Wurmser, an Iran specialist and principal deputy assistant for national security affairs in Cheney's office, according to sources familiar or involved in the case.
'"The initial interest was: Do you believe certain people would spy for Israel and pass secret information?" said one source interviewed by the FBI about the defense officials.
'It remains unclear, however, how specific investigators' suspicions have become. And one official, a Feith ally, has said the investigation is an effort by some intelligence officials to discredit Pentagon hawks. ...'

No evidence has been found of international Arab or African involvement in the Russian school siege and massacre, despite the Putin government's claims, says British Channel 4 News. A hostage said the hostage-takers were light-skinned, and spoke a language she believed was Chechen. Putin wants to divert attention from his oppression of Chechnya with these claims, Channel 4 News says. Putin also claimed the hostage-takers were financed by al-Qaeda's representative in Chechnya.
Putin may also be collaborating with America and the CIA in perpetuating the chymera of the Islamist Global Conspiracy. Whereas the prize in the latter case is a Mideast oil empire, Putin's strategy has been to prevent the further collapse of the old Soviet empire, by drawing the line at Chechnya (as well as the accession and maintaining of his own worthy self in power). He is probably, and vainly, also trying to stave off the longer-term global ambitions of the American imperial elite at the direct expense of Russia.
The Russian apartment bombings of 1999, blamed on Chechens, were evidently staged by Putin and the FSB (domestic successor to the KGB) and the pretext to reconquer Chechnya — and get Putin elected as President). In this a action, Putin anticipated by two years 9/11, evidently staged by the CIA for a more "positive" agenda. Is Putin now repeating the technique, on a larger scale (300 were killed in the 1999 bombings).

'A federal court yesterday struck down as unconstitutional a path-breaking Pennsylvania law designed to prevent Internet users from seeing Web sites that contain child pornography.
'U.S. District Court Judge Jan E. DuBois threw out the 2002 law, ruling that it violated free-speech rights because it resulted in more than 1 million legitimate sites being blocked but shut down only about 400 offenders.
'The law allowed state prosecutors to demand that providers of Internet connections, such as telephone and cable companies, America Online, Microsoft Corp. and others, block access to the sites or face potential criminal penalties.
'But Internet "addresses" — sets of numbers that help direct online users to the correct Web sites, are in short supply. Companies that host Web sites, which are assigned blocks of addresses, often assign sub-addresses to individual sites, but these proved difficult for Internet providers to block separately. Thus, when prosecutors demanded that certain addresses be shut down, many sites with sub-addresses that contained legitimate content were also swept away.
'The Act suppresses substantially more protected material than is essential to the furtherance of the government's interest in reducing child sexual abuse," DuBois, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, wrote in his ruling. [But what about the government's interest in blocking other material which, say, questions the official version of 9/11? How else can they do it without coming out into the open?]

I have seen no publicity about any cases among this latter whiter-than-white amalgam itself.
