'HOON TO MEET RUMSFELD ON SEPTEMBER 11

'[British] Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon will make a six-day trip to the US around the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

'Mr Hoon's visit will include talks on the anniversary with US defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

'Mr Rumsfeld is regarded as the US's "chief hawk" pushing the case for military action against Saddam Hussein.

'The MoD said details of the trip and the talks agenda were not yet finalised.'

And Hoon has been described as the most hawkish of the British cabalistic camp-followers. No doubt they will discuss (within the bounds of propriety) Stage Two of the construction of the new Evil Empire.

What is little Britain's role in it, anyway? What's the big deal about Britain that the US cabal is -- evidently -- anxious to cultivate? Is the former Great Britain's role to reactivate, as far as possible, the shreds and influences of its former empire? Are there not such linkages that are politely known by other names (e.g. the Commonwealth)?

Will we see an Anglo-Saxon Empire, such as Spengler feared as a rival to his preferred German Empire, an Oceania in which Britain is truly no more than an Airstrip One?

Former US President Clinton has warned that attacking Iraq may provoke Hussein into using biological or chemical weapons.

Has he been primed by CIA "intelligence"? Is the US cabal indeed planning a second massive terrorist attack on its own side, this time with weapons of mass destruction, that will unite people behind it (at home and abroad alike), paving the way to conquer Iraq (and Saudi Arabia, etc etc)?

9/11 has served it less-than-ideally. Though it permitted the conquest of Afghanistan (as an eastern outpost of its intended Middle-east oil empire) and has galvanized public opinion behind it in general terms for its "war on terror", yet it has not prepared specifically for an attack on Iraq. And that is the way the US administration's agitation has gone, against Hussein's police state and its alleged resumption of production of weapons of mass destruction (something they have never produced public proof for, though they have now had a year to cook it up).

The list of 19 alleged 9/11 hijackers, produced tout suite by the FBI after the attacks, contained 15 Saudi Arabians — what should have been a ideal excuse to invade this richest of oil-producing countries. Some efforts have been made in the last year to boost the image of this long-term economic ally of America as a dictatorship (or even a "totalitarian state"!). Yet only recently have US extreme-rightists been pushing for it to be a terroristic "kernel of evil".

Clearly the cabal has its manipulative strings somewhat tangled.

British Conservative opposition leader Iain Duncan Smith, writing in the Sunday Times, says Saddam Hussein is "a clear and growing danger" to the British people, which Blair must spell out. [He also supports military strikes on Iraq.]

It's that season again! Duncan Smith is once again trying to outdo PM Tony Blair as a US cabalistic war puppet. After competing at this very thing last autumn, Blair and Duncan Smith backtracked on their positions, donning more moderate faces.

It is notable that they adopted their militant attitudes after meeting US Vice-President Dick Cheney last autumn. Is Cheney the maestro (or Mephisto) of lies, bribery and/or blackmail? Does he have Mule-like powers of Conversion (a la Asimov's Foundation series)?

'US, OPEC "TO WRECK GREEN ENERGY PLAN"

'The US and major oil producers are set to block agreement at the Earth Summit in Johannesburg on increasing the use of renewable energy, reports claim.

'The Independent on Sunday says the collusion has wrecked a Brazil-led move for the world to get 10% of its fuel from clean, renewable sources by 2010.

'Instead, they will push plans to boost fossil fuel use in developing countries.

'Delegates must agree tonight on plans to be put to world leaders next week.'

I can understand that the US and OPEC have separate interests in so doing, but the latter would be foolish indeed to collaborate with its prospective conqueror (unless it hopes to propitiate it by so doing).

'IRAQ "CAN PROVE [nuclear] WEAPONS CLAIMS FALSE"

'Iraq is not working to get nuclear weapons and is ready to prove it, a senior Iraqi official has said.

'Deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz told news channel CNN that Iraq would use "technical, viable means" to show it had no weapons of mass destruction.

'White House in disarray over Cheney speech'

'George Bush has moved to distance himself from his vice-president after it was revealed that a sabre-rattling speech on Iraq by Dick Cheney was made without clearing key points [with] the White House.

'In a clear sign of disarray at the top of the US administration it has emerged that Mr Cheney may have gone too far in a bellicose address last week in which he dismissed out of hand the usefulness of pushing for weapons inspectors to be allowed back into Iraq.

'That disarray inside the Bush team was compounded by renewed reports in the US press last night that Colin Powell was planning to leave his job as secretary of state at the end of the president's first term, potentially threatening Mr Bush's re-election chances in 2004 by robbing him of a popular and moderate ally.

'Mr Powell's recommendations for the administration to take a more multilateralist line in foreign policy have repeatedly been ignored.

'In an interview with the BBC broadcast yesterday, Mr Powell argued that UN weapons inspectors should be sent back to Iraq as a "first step" towards dealing with the threat posed by Saddam Hussein, echoing the position taken by Britain and the European Union.

'Those comments directly contradicted the speech by Mr Cheney to US war veterans last Monday. In that he said the inspectors "would provide no assurance whatsoever" of Iraqi compliance with UN disarmament resolutions, and instead increase the danger by providing "false comfort".

'A European diplomat said: "As far as we can tell, the Cheney speech was a freelance job which had not been cleared with other agencies." The diplomat believed that included Mr [Bush's] national security adviser, Condoleeza Rice.

'That impression was reinforced by a report in Newsweek magazine yesterday in which the White House chief of staff Andy Card, said that the president had not authorised Mr Cheney's language on inspections, and it was toned down in a second version of the speech delivered later in the week.

'The report also quoted administration sources as saying that Mr Cheney had failed to check the facts behind his allegations against Iraq with the CIA and that the state department never saw the final text of the speech. ...

'The issue of weapons inspectors is at the centre of the debate within the Bush administration between hawks, led by Mr Cheney and the defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who believe the US should go it alone in toppling President Saddam and moderates, led by Mr Powell and a phalanx of prominent figures in the Republican party, who want to pursue the quarrel with Iraq through the UN.

'Opinions polls yesterday showed the US public to be overwhelmingly on the side of the moderates. In a Newsweek survey, 81% said it was important to gain the formal support of the UN for military action and 86% said it was important to get support from most of Washington's European allies.

'Diplomats in Washington believe the White House is considering approaching the UN security council to seek a new ultimatum for Iraq to readmit weapons inspectors, a course of action advocated by the EU last week.

'Any future UN ultimatum will be hamstrung by the administration's oft-repeated intention to pursue "regime change" irrespective of UN inspections, removing President Saddam's incentive to comply. Mr Bush is due to address the UN general assembly on September 12, by which time the White House is hoping to have clarified its policy.'

'Al-Qaida Said to Find Refuge in Camp, Washington Post online, 2 Sept. 02:-

'... Zeev Schiff, a prominent Israeli journalist who covers the military, reported in Haaretz daily that Damascus has allowed between 150 and 200 al-Qaeda operatives to settle in the in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ein el-Hilweh, near the Lebonese coastal town of Sidon.

'The group includes senior commanders who arrived from Afghanistan through Damascus and Iran, the newspaper reported Monday [2 Sept.], attributing its information to "various intelligence services." [Such as the CIA, the CIA, and the CIA?] ...'

A 'Lebanese security source' denied that al-Qaeda members were in the camp.

The Israelis must be thinking, If our Yank Big Brothers do it for their ulterior purposes, why shouldn't we as well? If they do it to conquer an oil empire, we can do it to further duff up the Palestinians (and Lebanese). And if we throw in a mention of Syria and Iran as well, that will please our Big Brothers ...

'Evidence that Iraq has been stockpiling weapons of mass destruction will be made available within weeks, Prime Minister Tony Blair has said.

'Iraq posed a "real and unique threat", and thee was "some evidence" it was close to acquiring nuclear weapons, he told a news conference in Sedgefield.

'How Saddam's Hussein's threat should be dealt with had yet to be decided[!].

'But Mr Blair added: "This isn't just an issue for the United States."

Why not publish right away? Why not have published a year ago? Because it won't matter in a few weeks? Because they'll have occupied Iraq by then? Because they'll have staged another atrocity by then, so that few will be paying attention anyway?

'US Secretary of State Colin Powell has said President Bush will set out American plans for action on Iraq "fully and in the near future".

'General Powell dismissed Iraqi calls for talks on the resumption of weapons inspections. [Which proves that he's merely been playing soft cop-tough cop games with Bush and the other hawks, directed against Iraq. ]

'"It's the con that the Iraqi regime have been pulling on the international community for years," he said.

'"It is time for the international community to speak back," he insisted.'

'Anti-terrorism laws introduced after September 11 are "inconsistent" with international human rights and should be repealed, said Amnesty International.

'Holding foreign nationals without trial or charge if they posed a security risk led to "cruel" treatment, a report said.

'Suspects are locked up in high security cells for 22 hours a day, intimidated and denied the right to appeal, it said.

'Amnesty also urged the release of seven UK terror suspects held at Camp X-ray [at the US Guantanamo military base, Cuba].'

A female leader of the US veterans' association, of the Gulf War of 1991, was interviewed by the BBC (World Service news). She believes that most Americans do not support another American military campaign against Iraq, but that the (American) media is not accurately reporting public opinion. (She admitted to being gung ho the first time around.)

She also believes that the new war-mongering is being pursued with a (largely unnamed) ulterior agenda in mind. She said that the US itself supplied anthrax and the West Nile virus to Iraq years ago. (She definitely said 'West Nile'. Isn't this the stuff that's going round the USA today?)

(I wrote the above from memory some hours after hearing it, which is why it's less pristine than my usual entries.)

'SEARCH ENGINE GOOGLE FIGHTS CHINESE BAN

'The popular search engine Google has said it is trying to get the ban on its site in China (see above, under 3 Sept.) lifted.

'"We are currently working with Chinese officials to get our full service restored to the millions of Chinese users," the company said in a statement.

'China has defended its policy of maintaining tight controls on the net. ...'

US bodyguards shot three men dead after they attacked President Karzai with guns in his car during a meet-the-people parade in Kandahar. Afghan officials were quick to blame "al-Qaeda". At the same time, a powerful bomb in Kabul killed 10 to 30 people in the street. For this, exiled warlord Hekmatiar was given the blame.

Meanwhile the Israelis claim to have safely blown up a 1,300lb car bomb near Hadera in northern Israel. The bomb was also said to contain two barrels of fuel and metal fragments. It was a 'miracle' the bomb was found by police, said Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres. If it had gone off it could have changed the face of the whole Middle East, he said. Jeez, it-must-have-been-a-Doomsday-bomb!

The Israeli ruling clique evidently has not the evil 'bravery' that the US cabal has: to murder thousands of its own people in order to galvanize public opinion in support of its black crusade.

'TV STATION TO AIR AL-QAEDA "CONFESSION"

'Arabic [Qatari] TV station al-Jazeera says it has obtained the first confessions from al-Qaeda members that the organisation carried out the September 11 attacks.

'The station says it has interviewed two men who lived with hijacker Mohammed Atta in Germany before the attacks.

'It claims that next week it will air "the first direct confession" about how al-Qaeda planned the operation.

'The station says the two men were interviewed in Pakistan.'

This should make a nice complement to Blair's "Iraq dossier". I haven't seen enough evidence to say with certainty (or even probability) that al-Jazeera TV is a CIA mouthpiece, but the Qatari regime is in Western pockets to some extent — the current emir has relied on Western support since overthrowing his father in 1995. The al-Jazeera station was founded in 1996 from 'defecting' BBC World Service staff; it has been supported by government funding ever since. '100 jets join attack on Iraq'

'About 100 American and British aircraft took part in an attack on Iraq's major western air defence installation yesterday in the biggest single operation over the country for four years.

'The raid appeared to be a prelude to the type of special forces operations that would have to begin weeks before a possible American-led war. ...

'Although only 12 aircraft dropped precision-guided bombs on to the H3 airfield, ... many support aircraft took part. [Now that's what I call a big supporting role.]

'The strikes were carried out by nine American F15 Strike Eagles and three RAF Tornado GR4 ground attack aircraft flying from Kuwait. ...'

The 'information' was given out unofficially by US Central Command and British Ministry of Defence sources.

'... Iraq is currently exporting around a million barrels of oil a day out of a total production of 1.8 million barrels. This is far below the 3.5 million barrels a day it was pumping out before the 1979 Iran-Iraq war. The effects of the UN oil for food programme and a disintegrating infrastructure have pushed Iraqi oil exports below the country's capacity.

'American imports of Iraqi oil have dropped from nearly a million barrels a day earlier in the year to just 200,000.

'Now Iraq has 112 billion barrels of oil, second only to Saudi Arabia's 261 billion. If these were fully exploited [!] after Saddam's fall, production "could increase rapidly in a very short time", say oil industry analysts.

'"America is being held at bay by foreign crude oil suppliers and so, if it was to secure another more friendly and stable source, then that would certainly be considered a positive outcome." [Oh no!!! Not — honesty!!!]

'With three million barrels a day being produced by a free [!] Iraq, the most benign scenario goes, oil prices could dip below $10 a barrel. The many critics of Saudi Arabia in Washington argue that this is one of the reasons why the House of Saud is so reluctant to see Saddam go.

'There are problems with such a benign scenario, however. Rebuilding Iraqi facilities would take time and it could be five years before negotiations between a new Iraqi and international companies lead to 1979 levels. [Come on, you expect these muppets to show some gratitude. And if they were independent oppositionists, their acceptance of cabal-USA as their 'liberating sword' ipso facto muppetises them.] ...'

'TALEBAN "WARNED US" OF IMPENDING ATTACK

'The Taleban warned American diplomats and the UN in July last year that Osama Bin Laden was planning an attack on US soil, a regime aide has said. [An ex regime aide, presum.]

'The aide delivered warnings from the Taleban's foreign minister without naming sources, but they went unheeded.

'The minister had feared US retaliation against al-Qaeda's base of [sic] Afghanistan.

'A US source said officials had been hearing so many warnings that a kind of "warning fatigue" had set in.'

In the same month that the US was said to have warned Afghanistan that it would be attacked if it didn't hand over bin Laden. And that bin Laden was said to have met with local CIA representative Larry Mitchell in Dubai. (See this.) Here's something to think about. Is it revelationary? Is it diversionary disinformation? ...

'President Bush plans to tell world leaders at the United Nations next week that unless they take quick, unequivocally strong action to disarm Iraq, the United States will be forced to act on its own, senior administration officials said yesterday. ...'

'IRAQ "POSES NO THREAT" — EX-INSPECTOR

'Iraq poses no threat to its neighbours or the US, a former [head] UN weapons inspector has insisted.

'Scott Ritter, speaking to the Iraqi parliament, said it had not been shown Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

'President Bush appeard set on a course of unilateral action, he added.

'Mr Ritter who has been critical of US poicy since leaving Baghdad in 1998, urged Iraq to re-admit the inspectors to prove it had nothing to hide.'

Is Ritter a genuine opponent of Bush-fronted imperialism? Or is he another pressure-applier in the guise of one? Is he knight or robber-baron? Ritter oder Raubritter?

Blair, back from a meeting with Bush, 'is to brief senior MPs over the coming weeks on plans to tackle Saddam Hussein and his regime's weapons of mass destruction ... [and he] is due to publish a dossier of evidence against Saddam in the next two weeks.' (ITV Teletext, p.303)

I can't wait! Come on lads, you must have cooked up something convincing in a whole year.

The US cabal ever gives itself away via mirror-logic (as I've remarked several times before). In describing "al-Qaeda" or "Iraq", their public representatives sometimes unconsciously reveal their own nature, methods and aims. (Bush is particularly transparent at it.)

I've just read an address by James L Pavitt, head of the CIA's Directorate of Operations, made last 11 April. He talked about how the CIA is "struggling with global terrorism". Regarding those who perpetrated the Sept. 11 attacks, he says

The terror cells that we're going up against are typically small and all terrorist personnel in those cells, particularly in those cells, perpetrating the acts of terror, all those personnel are carefully screened. The number of personnel who know vital information, targets, timing, the exact methods to be used had to be smaller still. ...

"But support for the proposal gradually gained ground, partly as a result of presssure from families of the Sept. 11 victims. This is the highest Catholic Church official to be accused of personal homosexual child abuse (as opposed to covering-up for others).
