Chapter 6
''Well I have to go. I will see you at home right Desi? Let me reword that. I will see only you at home and no Ryan understand?'' Kristen said.
Desi was completely and totally fed up with Kristen. ''Kris where do you get off being my mother and my keeper? Do not treat me like I am a five year old. I am 29 years old and I think I can take care of myself. Besides Ryan is my friend. I don't like what he did to Lynne but I believe he is truely sorry for what happened.''
Spinning on her heel Kris left the Outback angrier than she had ever been before.
Since he was not on duty that night Ryan went to the bar and ordered a drink for himself and a lemonade for Desi. When the drinks arrived he looked at Desi sitting at the table looking miserable. Picking up the drinks he walks back to their table and hands her the lemonade.
''Desi don't let her get to you. She is just jealous that Lynne got to me first. When we all know SHE wanted me.'' Ryan said teasing.''Beleive me I can handle her. She thinks she can get to me by rubbing the affair in my face but I don't listen to her any more than she listens to me when I tell her that I did not mean to do it.''
Desi smiled sipping her lemonade. Ryan was a decent person why couldn't Kris see that. ''You are right about the fact that you and Lynne are going to be together again. I want you together as much -if not more- as you do. I really believe you are sorry for what happened.''
Ryan just grins as he finishes his drink. ''You don't have to worry about me. I have handled people worse than Krissy. The worst person would have to be my mother, sad to say. Suffice it to say Kris is a peice of cake compaired to my mother. Trust me I can handle her. I am glad you and I are friends. Kristen is just taking this personally and I am not about to be intimidated by her.''
Desi was glad that Ryan was willing to be the bigger person in this situation. At least for the moment.
She could tell that he was planning something. But she could not figure out was WHAT he was planning and WHO it was going to affect. She just prayed that it would not hurt Lynne or Kris but she had a feeling that Kris might be his next target. ''What are you planning Ryan? I know that look. It was the same look you had on your face when you were planning on asking Lynne to marry you. Please tell me what you are planning. Also tell me you are not planning on hurting anyone physically are you?''
Ryan looked at her and smiled.''No. I am not planning anything like that. In fact it is along the lines of how to get Lynne back. But I might need your help. Will you help me Desi?''
''Yeah I will help you but you have to
promise me something first.'' Desi said.
''What?''
''That you don't rush it. Give Lynne time. She is just rebuilding her life. Please wait for a while before you act. If you promise to wait I will help you.''
''Alright. I will wait. But not too long.'' Ryan said.
''Deal! I have to go now but call me if you need anything. I am going
home to Lake Raines for the weekend to be with my fiancee, Philip so if
you need anything call me up there. You have the number.''
''I do.'' Ryan said.''And Desi?''
''Yeah?''
''Thanks.''
''No problem'' Desi said and left Ryan sipping his second drink and smiling one of his famous evil smiles.
Lynne was sitting on her blue couch and clutching a pillow and crying. Her tears were out of shock and sorrow. Her Sheana was really Danie Rose. It was almost too good to be true. But deep in her heart she knew it was true.
Kevin was in the doorway watching her and wished that Lucy was there. After all Lynne was her daughter. But right now Lynne only wanted Kevin to know.
''Ly, sweetie, you okay? What is wrong?''
''Kevin, come in. you might want to sit down for this one. My daughter is alive!'' Lynne said through her tears.
''No honey, Janelle is not alive. You know that.'' Lynne laughed.''I know that but my OTHER daughter is alive.''
Completely lost, Kevin asked, ''Ly what are you talking about.''
''I have another daughter. her name is Sheana Danielle. I was raped just like mom was and had a baby girl when I was 14. Janette and Daniel were very understanding about it and explained my options to me. They actually told me that if I wanted to I could keep Sheana. It is funny but the subject of abortion never came up. But back then I was logical and knew that I could not afford her and that she would be better off with a family who wanted a baby but for some reason could not have one.'' Lynne sniffed wiping her eyes and cheeks free of the pre-fallen tears.
''Does Ryan know about Sheana?''
''No. I did not think I should tell him that there was a chance that my baby--MY baby Kevin! was possibly looking for me. You know his temper when he gets mad. I did not want to subject either of my girls to that.''
''Lynne, I want to help you get close to Sheana. But it is not going to happen all at once. How do you know she is in Port Charles?'' Kevin asked.
''Believe it or not she is a patient of mine. Her name is Danie Rose. But she does not know that her therapist is really her mother. Dawn, her adopted mother, is pregnant and we don't want to tell Danie who I really am until she knows about the baby. You know what she told me when she found out that I gave a baby girl up for adoption? She told me she wishes she was that girl. But there is something else I think I should tell you.''
''What?'' Kevin asked watching Lynne who was facing the window.
''She told me that her parents did not love her so that is why she was 'given away' She does not know she was actually talking about me. I reassured her that her parents probably loved her very much and wanted to give her the life that they could not give. But she also told me that she hates being adopted.'' Lynne sobbed harder now.''But the opposite is true. I LOVED my Sheana and I did not want her deprived of a good and stable life. I love my daughter! I cry every year on her birthday, July 25, but me giving her up gave Dawn and Tony what they wanted most a baby.''
Turning her around to face him, Kevin took Lynne's face in his hands and smiled at her.''Lynne I KNOW you love your daughter and would move Heaven and Earth to help her. Letting Dawn and Tony provide for her and raise her shows how much you love her.''
Pulling away from him she smiled and jokingly told him.''Too bad you are not charging me. You would make a fortune if you did! Thank you so much for dropping everything you were doing and coming to listen to me babble.''
Hugging her, he laughed and said,''You know you are probably right. But I never charge family members for my services. But you do have one big obstacle left to handle.''
''What?''
''Telling your mother! Speaking of your mother. She wants you and Decker to come over tonight. We have somethings to tell you. That would be the right time to tell her.'' Kevin said.
''You're right! I get off in about two hours and I will be at the lighthouse around 5:00 okay?'' Lynne agreed.
''Perfect. See you then.'' Kevin said.
''Bye'' Lynne said.
Lynne sat at her desk and pulled out a picture of Sheana and put it on her desk. Reminding herself that she had to take it to the lighthouse later that day.
Alex is asleep and Angelique is in bed beside him, holding him. She is mad at Rachelle for pretending to be her friend. God help Rachelle. Alex did not deserve to be treated the way he had been by Rachelle. Alex made it very clear to Angel that it was over between him and Rachelle. What made her believe him was that Alex told her that he told Rachelle to her face that it was over for good.
The truth is that Angel got the feeling that Rachelle never really loved Alex to begin with. Just then there was a soft knock on the door and there was Rachelle. If looks could kill the look that Angel gave Rachelle would have been lethal.
Pointing to the door, Angel mouthed the words 'Outside!'. Once they were outside the room and the door was closed, Angel let loose. ''What are you doing here, Rachelle? Alex does not want you here and neither do I for that matter. Please leave now!''
''I don't know why he wouldn't want me there. We're friends. Unless, you assumed that we might be more than that.'' Rachelle began knowing exactly what buttons to push.
''Do me a favor and shut up! He told me everything --EVERYTHING-- about you and him and what you did to him. Remember when you lied about being involved with Scully? He actually believed you were telling the truth. He believed you because he loved you, past tense there Rachelle, loved you and did not want to think you would do something that horrible.'' Angel said.''Get over it.''
''I hate to correct you Angel but Alex STILL loves me and that is the truth. Mark my words little girl we will get back together.''
''You coniving little bitch! There is no way that Alex would take you back. He told me that in no uncertain terms that he is over with you and IN LOVE with me. So if you don't mind. Please leave us alone. Do not make me get a restraining order.'' Angel snapped and went back inside the room closing the door behind her.
Looking at Alex she whispered.''Don't worry I won't let that PERSON near you again.''
Once Angel was gone Rachelle smiled and thinks.'It ain't over until Alex returns to me and this time it will be forever.''
Desi walked into Lynne's apartment and slammed the door behind her.
Noticing that there was a message on the machine and remembering her deal with Ryan, she dashed to the machine and pressed 'play' praying it was not Ryan.
''HELLO DESI? IT'S PHILLIP JUST CALLED TO SEE IF YOU AND I WERE STILL ON FOR THIS WEEKEND. I MISS YOU. IF I DON'T HEAR FROM YOU IT MEANS WE ARE STILL ON. IF I HEAR FROM YOU IT MEANS WE'RE NOT. I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING.''

''I love you too honey.'' Desi said.
''Who you talking to sis?''
''Not you if that is what you're thinking. Phillip and I are meeting at our cabin at the lake. I am not mad at you Kris. I am just frustrated about how controlling you are towards me and Lynne. My goodness girl she is 21 --almost 22-- and has a mother! I am 29, engaged, practically married for God's sake. I am not saying stop worrying about us, but just tone it down a little okay?''
Kristen was not entirely shocked by this. She liked being the mother figure for Desi and Lynne. But in the past, she had to admit, she had been known to go overboard.
''Desi you know damn well that Mom and Dad never trusted Ryan. They kept telling her that he was too old for her. There she was a baby of 17 and he was in his mid twenties when they started dating. Mom KNEW that she would end up hurt if the relationship progressed.''
''I know all about Mom's concerns about Ryan and Ly. But I also saw our youngest sister who has gone through so much pain in her life being happy for probably the first time in her life. I had my concerns at first but when I -unlike you- talked to her about it she admitted she was nervous and unsure too but she was happy and leading her own life.''
''I understand that Desi but--'' Kristen began.
''Did it ever occur to you on any level what so ever that you might be the reason that Lynne is unhappy? Think about it for a while. I am outta here.'' Desi said slamming the door behind her.
Lynne was right outside the
Lighthouse door, she was holding the picture of Sheana that she just kept in her office. Kissing the sweet baby girls face for luck she put the picture back into her knapsack. Somepeople used purses she preferred backpacks. She knocked on the door and Lucy answers and hugs Lynne.
''Can you please walk with me for a while. There are somethings I need to tell you. I want you to look at this picture. Does she look familiar to you at all?'' Lynne asked.
''No. She doesn't. Who is she?''
''She is my seven year old daughter. Her name is Sheana Danielle. She is only two days old in that picture but she is my daughter.'' Lynne said watching Lucy's face closely.
''How? I mean how could she be yours? You are not old enough to have a seven year old daughter. Unless you were--'' Lucy said putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
''Yes. I was. When I was 14. I was actually 13 when I got pregnant but when Sheana was born I had just turned 14 the weekend before. That is why I asked you how you could feel so good about something so bad that happened to you. Because I had suffered the same thing.'' Lynne said with tears dancing in her eyes.
''Honey you should have said something. I am your momma. You can tell me anything. Chances are pretty darn good that I have been through what you have. I am always to be here for you. I love you my first born child.''
''Mom, I know you love me....what do you mean first born? Mom your not! Are you?'' Lynne asked.
''Yes I am. I am two months pregnant with Kevin's and my baby. Your half-sibling. I was wondering would you be the Godmother for our baby. Kevin is in the house now asking Decker to be the Godfather. Please, my little sweet pea, say yes.'' Lucy smiled.
''I would be honored. Mommy the answer is a resounding yes.'' Lynne smiled.
