Chapter 9
That same night....
Lucy's Apartment (Living Room)
They pull together and kiss. The heat was so strong between them that they fell to the couch and never broke contact. After what seemed like minutes they pulled apart and looked into each others eyes.
''I love you Lucy Coe'' Kevin said slightly out of breath.
''I love you too Doc.'' Lucy said.''But we need to clear somethings up. Are you sure I am the only woman in your heart?''
''Lucy I have never been more certain about anything. I love you and only you. I told you Grace is my past and you are my future!'' Kevin said leaning in to kiss her neck.
''Oh Doc.'' was all that she could say.

Dr. Lidia Neumann had just gotten paged to Lynne's room. Lidia knew that Lynne was pregnant and that she was in no danger of loosing the child, but medicine amoung other things can be wrong.
''Hello. Lynne. I hear you are having contractions. How far apart? and how far are you into the pregnancy?'' Lidia said.
''I...am three months pregnant and the contractions are one every five minutes. I cannot loose anoth-- this baby. Please help me and my baby Lidia.'' Lynne said in shear terror.
''Lets see if we can find a heartbeat for this little one.'' Lidia said trying to stay optomistic for Lynne's sake.
Destiny was holding her sisters hand and tried to keep the air light until they found out about the unborn baby growing inside of Lynne. They talked about what has been going on in Destiny's life.
''I am engaged to a wonderful guy named Phillip. We are getting married in about a month. I would be honored if you would be my matron of honor.'' Destiny
said showing of her tiny delicate diamond ring.
''Yes I will be your matron of honor. Lidia what is wrong?'' Lynne said as a fresh wave of terror mixed with sadness washed over her.
''Lynne I cannot find a heartbeat. I am so sorry but the baby is gone. I did everything I could. We will do a D&C tonight. Is there anyone you want me to call to be here after you wake up?''
''Yeah, my hus--'' Lynne started to say she wanted Ryan there but since she did not trust him she changed it to ''Could you call my brother-in-law Kevin.''
''Yes.''
''Thank you.'' Lynne said as Lidia left.''Oh Destiny. I cannot believe that I lost this baby. I know R-r-r-yan did not want it but I did!'' Lynne realized she lost the one thing that would have saved her marriage to Ryan all because she got too stressed.''Des. I am going to divorce Ryan!'
Chapter 10
The next morning...

The words that her sister said last night rang in her ears..''Des. I am going to divorce Ryan!'' Was Lynne serious or was it the pain of loosing her unborn baby the one talking? Destiny did not know. She just wished that Kevin would get here soon. Lynne would be waking up and the pain would hit her all over again.
''Des? How is she?'' Destiny turned and saw Ryan standing there.''Did they save the baby?''
''Ryan, I know that we hate each other, but go on in she needs you right now.'' Destiny said.''Don't worry about what Krissy will say I will handle her.''
''Thanks, Destiny. I owe you one.'' Ryan said and winked.
''Yes you do.'' Destiny said smiling at her brother in law sadly.''Yes you do.''
Lynne's Room
When Ryan walked in there he was grateful that she was still asleep. He had to plan what he was going to say if the worst had happened. Lynne could tell there was someone in the room and she slowly opened her tear filled eyes and looked at Ryan.
''Good Morning, Ryan.'' Lynne said, her voice full of emotion.''I was hoping you would be here. Something has happened.''
''Lynne what happened? Did they save the baby?'' Ryan asked hopefully.
Lynne shook her head and tearfully said,''No they could not save her. I am so confused. I don't know wheather to blame you for this or what. Ryan the one thing I wanted most in this world is gone. The life you and I created on our wedding night is gone. The one who should not have suffered in this...our unborn baby daughter..was the one that died.''
''Honey. I am so sorry. I know how much you wanted that child. You are right it was my fault that you miscarried our daughter.'' Ryan said with tears in his eyes.''but on the bright side, if there is one. We can try again. Lynne I want you to be happy that is all.''
''Ryan, I want a divorce.'' Lynne said.''I am so sick of the games! And your right the bright side of this is that I woke up and realized how stupid I was to have fallen in love with you.''
''No! Lynne please. I need you in my life. The woman that was supposed to be my mother never loved me. YOU are the first woman to ever love me with her whole heart.'' Ryan pleaded.''Think about it. Please, will you give me another chance. I don't know what I would do if I lost you.''
Kevin's Car en route to GH
''What happened Kevin?'' Lucy asked.''You look like you lost a good friend--sorry not a good analogy.''
''Do you know Dr. Bethany-Lynne Chamberlain? Well she has just had her first miscarriage. She asked me to come and talk to her and I need to know how the mother feels after loosing a child.'' Kevin said.
''So you want me to tell you what it feels like to loose a child? Remember how you felt when you lost Grace? Well it is about ten times harder than that. I should know..I..uh...miscarried twice.'' Lucy said looking out the window and remembering the two children she had lost.
Chapter 11
Kevin's Car en route to Deception and GH
Kevin just asked Lucy what a mother goes through when she miscarries. Lucy answered..''So you want me to tell you what it feels like to loose a child? Remember how you felt when you lost Grace? Well it is about ten times harder than that. I should know ..I..uh...miscarried twice.'' Lucy said looking out the window and remembering the two children she had lost.
Kevin felt like kicking himself. He knew about the previous miscarriages and how much she wanted children but he could not keep his big mouth shut! ''I am sorry Lucy I forgot how desperately you want children. It is just I am worried about Lynne. I was not thinking straight. Forgive me?''
''Of course my love. I am still getting over loosing Baby Rena. So I am sort of at fault here too. I just hope you can for give me.'' Lucy said.
''Yeah I guess I could...but this is the last time.'' Kevin teased.''I cannot be getting all soft like this all the time. I have a reputation you know.''
''Oh! Yes of course! We would not want to tarnish your reputation now would we.'' Lucy giggled.''But since my reputation is in the mud right now you can tarnish it to your hearts content.''
''I might just do that.'' Kevin smiled. He pulled the car up to the front of the Deception building and pulled her to him for a passionate kiss.''We can finish this kiss later. I will call you when I am done at GH with Lynne and Ryan. Love you.''
''Give Lynne my best and I tell her I am sending her something.'' Lucy said.''I love you too. Bye.''
GH CHAPEL
Ryan was alone in the chapel and thinking about the baby and Lynne. He violated her trust and love. He thought about their wedding and the vows they had written each other....
~^~^~^~^FLASHBACK TO THREE MONTHS AGO~^~^~^~^~
Ryan was standing at the altar waiting for Lynne to walk down the aisle and join him in the bond of marriage. Lynne was his heart, home, refuge from the storm and soulmate. The organist began to play Pachelbel's Canon in D and there was Lynne in a beautiful white flowing wedding gown, heading toward him. She was soo beautiful.
Later they exchanged the following vows, Lynne started them...
''Ryan Joel Chamberlain, I have loved you ever since I met you two years ago. You were walking past me in the cafeteria of my school and we locked eyes. I felt something that day. I was too afraid to act on what I felt because of what I heard my sisters say about you. But the more I saw you the more I new they were wrong. You are just a kind, sweet, understanding, unique guy who I happen to love with all my heart. I will love honor and cherish you all the days of my life. I love you, Ryan.''
''Bethany-Lynne Lawrence, I also have loved you since we met two years ago. You were sitting with your sisters and looking lovely as usual. Our eyes locked. I fell madly in love with you that day. I could tell you were afraid of me because of what you have been told but, you know I would never ever hurt you. You are my heart, my home, my refuge from the storm, my best friend and my world. Lynne I will love honor and cherish you all the days of my life. I love you Lynne.''

''Oh Lynne where did we go wrong? Or more to the point where did I go wrong.'' Ryan said.
He just had to get her back, he had to!

''Kimberly? How is the basket for Dr. Lynne Chamberlain coming along?'' Lucy asked.
''Don't worry Luce, it is almost ready to be sent to her at GH. What was her room number again?'' Kimberly asked.''You told me but I forgot.''
''That is okay. Everyone makes mistakes, Congrats your human.'' Lucy said smiling.''Dr. Lynne Chamberlain is on the 3rd floor room 306. Could you deliever them yourself? I would ask Don to do it but he is in a meeting and I don't want to bother him.''
''No problem Luce. Just sign the card and it is as good as there!'' Kimberly said grinning.''I will call you when Dr. Chamberlain has it in her hand that way you know it made it safely.''
''Thanks.''
Lucy wrote the following message on the card....
Dear Lynne,
We here at Deception Inc. hope that you feel better soon. In the meantime here are some goodies for you. If you ever want to talk and want an unbiased opinion call me at 555-4832. Ask for Lucy. Get better soon.

''Okay it is ready, now go!'' Lucy said with a nudge.''You don't want to be held up in traffic now do you?''
''No way! Ta Lucy!'' Kimberly said.
''Ta!''
Lynne's room at GH
Lynne was thinking about what Ryan had said. It was true that she was the one woman who had loved him unconditionally. But then again, she thought, he violated my trust by cheating. Lynne was in a bind. She wanted her husband back, but only if she knew for sure that she could trust him and his love. ''Is the love I have for Ryan enough to get us through this?'' she asked the empty room.
''You would be amazed at what love can do!'' Kevin said poking his head in the doorway.''Can I come in or is it a bad time?''
''No! Come in! I suppose you heard about my baby?'' Lynne said tearfully.''Oh Kev, I wanted this baby so bad! Ry did not want kids yet, but he did not really have a choice this time. And what did he do? He cheated. Like sleeping with another woman would change the fact that I was pregnant?''
''Lynne, I am so sorry about your child. I am going to be Dr. Collins for a minute okay?'' Kevin said.
''Sure! I love the advice he gives!'' Lynne said with a sad but brightening wink.
''I have counseled alot of women who say that they push the feelings of pain and sorrow down after a miscarriage because they feel uncomfortable mourning the child that they never knew but yet loved deeply.'' Kevin said.''I don't want you to fall into that catagory. My advice is face the pain head on. Get it out. Get the frustration and sorrow out now!''
''I have and it has almost ruined my life with Ryan. I just want the pain to go away. That is why I am concidering leaving Ryan.'' Lynne said.
Later that night...at Lucy's office...
Lucy was just finishing up a phone call to a client in Arizona when she felt Kevin's lips on her neck. She spun around and told the client she would have to get back to him. She hung up the phone and fell into Kevin....
