HIM

From the first moment I saw you
I knew
You were someone I wanted to know
Though you were like no one before
So opposite of what i thought
I wanted

And when we first kissed
I knew
You were him -
The one
To spend my life with
You made me feel like the woman
I never was...
Before you touched my life

*************************

JUST BACK FROM WAR

You -
With your regulation haircut -
Just back from war
Telling me tales of battle

Me -
With my shoebox
Full of letters
From an unseen penpal

We -
With the promise of future
Meet for the first time -
Already in love

*************************

THE MEANING OF LOVE

When life opens up before you
And shares its wonders
When nature rearranges
Her schedule
For your convenience
When the meaning of love
Is within your grasp
These things are possible
Because of you
I will never be the same again

*************************

CHANCES

I took a chance
And set my heart free

And you caught me
Just as I knew you would

Thank you
For being
All I believed you to be

*************************

NO PROMISES OF THE MOON

I always feel better after talking to you
You have a knack for making me smile...
You make me feel beautiful
And you do this without promising me
The moon...
Or whispering forever...
Or pretending...
You do this by being yourself
And spending time with me

*************************

KISSES

Your hot breath
Breathes cold
On my drenched flesh

You touch me there
You take me primal
With your kisses

Sit with me
In the moonlight
And pray dawn never comes

*************************

LOVE IS MINE

What can one say about first love
That has not been said?
I feel as if love is mine
And has never been held before
It is fresh and new
I want to tell the world
Of my discovery
Every love song is ours -
Composed with our love in mind
As if someone eavesdropped on my heart
And is filling the world with our love
Set to music

*************************

LUST

You are the water
I cannot live without
You are wine
Intoxicating
You are sweetness
Pulsing through me
You are cyanide
Leading to a slow death
You are jealousy
Caging me
You are hunger
I am savage in my quest

I am rage
In the darkness
Draining your life

I allow you one last breath
The deed is done

And I feast
On your silent,
Still warm
Cold heart
